Just Curious . . . and yeah it's another one of these.

I'm inclined to say something classic and stereotypical like the Wolfman (who IS awesome BTW), sense I don't care for slashers and I love the classics. But I'm gonna say Cenobites take the win.

Not a specific one (Maybe Chatterer if I had to) but their design sense is bitchin' and their purpose for their evil is so disgustingly original.

Close second was "The Claw" . . .

You?

Oh and please state why too.

Dren from splice

not quite human and not quite monster, shes an uncanny mix of both, those scenes with her range between heartwarming to unsettling and making you nervous, in case you do somthign that sets her off (and her venomous tail)

Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors, because I find it both funny and terrifying at the same time. And it sings, how amazing is that?

I would say the Vampires from the movie "30 Days of Night". I mean, I know the Thread says Monster, but this I just have to share honestly.

They aren't like any other vampire I have ever seen. These guys seriously scared me spite being 18 at the time watching the movie with my Dad. There's a small town in the middle of nowhere, which is covered with snow. Course, this small group of vampires come and kill everyone at start of movie then hunt down our main characters. It was amazing, yet horrifying.

Tell me if that wouldn't scare you (lol). Sure, it may not but you got to see the movie for sure then because their cries aren't even anything like a vampire. It's like demonic with a high pitch to it, very hard to stay calm in that situation.
I was so excited for that movie and I was reading reviews when it came out because I was curious and one wasn't marked as a spoiler review and ruined the entire movie for me. /whine

The things from The Descent got to me for some reason. I think it was a combination of the movies atmosphere that made them really scary.

<spoiler=But they're still freaky>

I think I'm with the OP on this one. Hellraiser is my favourite horror franchise, and most of the cenobite designs were fantastic. I think the most interesting ones are probably in Hellraiser III, though.

My second favourite monster is Godzilla. By which I mean the actual Godzilla. Your movie sucks, Emmerich.

It's not really a monster, but I loved the room in 1408. It seemed to have a personality, and in the movie it felt like it was alive. It does so much to get your imagination working even though it's a hotel room.

If I had to pick some kind of physical monster, then this:

For some reason I really like the movie version of Mbwun from the book Relic.

Even though the movie butchered the book it had one brutal looking beast.
