Phantasm II.

Scariest moment in a movie:

The beginning of Irreversible.
It's realistic and nobody can honestly tell me it wasn't the most inhumane, evil thing they have ever seen. It's the abominable nature that it shows that makes it bad.

The Mist, Jeepers Creepers, and Event Horizon. Also, in the horror/comedy category, there's the Tremors films, all of which I count as some of my favourite movies ever.

Ima go with the original Nightmare on Elm Street. It is the perfect combo of badass and scary with a slight side of cheese. I'm a fan of the whole series in general, although I do admit there are some real bad ones. The ones I prefer are 1, 3 and New Nightmare.

Of course there are plenty horror flicks i absolutely love Nightmare is just the first that springs to mind.

Well if my love of film has taught me anything it's that horror really encompasses a wide variety of cinema and the definition of horror has changed over time and is indeed still changing.

In terms of horror comedy I'd say evil dead 2.

In terms of psychological horror I'd say The Shining.

In terms of classic black and white horror I'd say the thing from another world (arguably, it does rely on tense human drama and there are several shock moments, not to mention the chilling ending) or Night of the living dead.

In terms of serious modern age horror, the kind that relys on intense violence, sickening camera cuts, shocks and serious human drama I'd say 28 Days Later.

In terms of a complete splatterfest I once watched one called "Dead and breakfast", that was pretty gory and bloody (But in a good way).

there was one called something like PULSE... are god what was it called, (its not my fav but the "4th kind" is my fav) but it was a low budget one and its unbelivbly well done, the ending is something alot of movies are scared 2 do. its got such a stupid complex storyline but it pulls it off! no idea how... ow and incase i got the name wrong
its the one where some weird computer virus sucks the will to live out of people, it ends with them basicly saying that the citys and internet belongs to them

I've been told Ring and Grudge were scary but, MAAAAAN, they were weak as fuck.

I'll play it safe and go for this:

Shit; wrong one.
And still... the first image is going to deprive me of my sleep for a whole week now.
That second one... just a regular horror scene, nothing special if you ask me.
Pfff, the scene was just eerie in the film.

I mean the tricycle scenes as a whole were pretty unnerving because you couldn't see around the corners until you'd turned fully. The fact that you only saw that image for a split second just felt uncomfortable.

Suspiria.

Can we classify James Whale's Frankenstein as horror? Cause I love that film.

How about Cronenberg's remake of The Fly? Oh hell, Dead Ringers for sure.

According to most places, Orphan is a horror film. I really liked it, so that'll be my pick.
