From Who Am I? by Country Joe and the Fish.
"There were some things that I loved one time, but the dreams are gone, I thought were mine"

Too many to count so I'm gonna go with songs I've listened to recently from off the top of my head:

From the Payday 2 soundtrack "Where's the Van?!" the only words in the song:

"If you've got a god, I'd start praying."
That one line just makes me smile each time.

From Dr Steel's "We Decide It"

And a trillion miles away
in uncharted galaxies
Swirl the fabric of our thoughts
manifesting fantasy

but we focus on destruction
money and corruption
until we've found ourselves
buried in the ground.

Classic AC/DC a tie between:

For those about to Rock. We Salute you!
and
Let there be rock!

Jonathan Coulton's "Overhead"

Once in a while,
I go out of my way,
to kill you,
a little.

Hmm first couple that come to mind are both by Tim Minchin:

Storm:
You know what they call “alternative medicine”
That's been proved to work?
Medicine.”

Not Perfect:
And the weirdest thing about my body is
I spend so much time hating it
But it never says a bad word about me

This is my body
And it's fine
It's where I spend the vast majority of my time
It's not perfect
But it's mine

My favorite comes from "I Am Mine" by Pearl Jam.

The north is to south what the clock is to time.
There's east and there's west and there everywhere lying.
I know I was born and I know that I'll die.
The in between is mine.
I. am. mine

Makes me feel happy when I hear it. We're all born and we know that we will die some day, but everything until that point is our choice and nobody can take that from you.

Well, it may just be me personally, but I've always considered this line, from the Bloodhound Gang's Bad Touch

"We can do it doggy style, so we can both watch X-Files"

True. Lyrical. Brilliance

Don't believe a word, for words are easily spoken
And your heart is just like that promise, made to be broken

Oh Phil, you dog, you.

Also, Deadliest Catch by Lower Than Atlantis has some great lyrics, it's a breakup song written entirely in nautical puns-
Electric eels couldn't express what I feel
This vessel, she sunk 'cause I was drunk at the wheel
From port to starboard, man the lifeboats
She was taking in water, couldn't keep her afloat

But is it better than 'Love, the kind you clean up with a mop and bucket'? That's real romance right there.

"All you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be"

Some see that as depressing, but I see it as genuine and liberating. know your limitations.

I agree pink floyd are fantastic when it comes to lyrics

My favourite lyric is from 'wish you were here'. "Did you exchange a walk on part in a war for a lead role in a cage"

'"Kathy, I'm lost", I said,
Though I knew she was sleeping.'

-- Simon & Garfunkel have some fantastic, poignant little lines.

The lyrics from Puscifer's "Potions" have stuck with me since I first heard the song last year. In particular:

The devil popped around today
Sellin' promises and potions
That could
Take a memory away
Help forget I'd ever met you

I may be in the minority here, but I always preferred APC to anything by Tool.

If I had the time to type out the entirety of 'Ten Foot Cock and a Few Hundred Virgins' and 'The Good Book' I would absolutely submit those as my answers.

OT: The first line that comes to mind is 'the sound of silence scares me senseless ever since the war'.
It's from Jack Savoretti's song... I think Russian Roulette, but it could be Chemical Courage. I forget, but the way he delivers it with emphasis on the S sound makes it unforgettable.

Alternatively, there's that Ed Sheeran lyric about being 'up and coming like I'm fucking in an elevator'.

I have to go with Bad Religion when talking about lyrical brilliance!
Here are two favourites:

"There's space for a paper airplane race in the eye of a hurricane" and "My divinity is caught between the colors of a butterfly" -All There Is

I think people are cheating for putting up a full verse! If I did that I would have so many good choices, I was just going on with single lines that I thought were brilliant.

"I ain't quiet. Everybody else is too loud."

<---
Courtesy of this man.

I'm also quite fond of Billy Joel's "They're sharing a drink they call loneliness, but it's better than drinking alone."

There aren't many lyrics to Aphex Twin's "Funny Little Man", just a deranged child howling variations of "Come on, funny little man!", and one ending line.

I WOULD LIKE TO FUCK YOU UP THE BUNGHOLE AND THEN I WILL SNEAK INTO YOUR ROOM AND BITE YOUR COCK OFF AND STUFF IT IN MY MOUTH AND CHEW IT UP WITH MY LITTLE BOOLIES.

Not very classy, but I mostly listen to lyricless stuff, so my reference pool isn't very large.

Every line from Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" is genius. "Cooking MCs like a side of bacon." Absolute gold.

I am waiting for someone to scream RULES OF NATURE!!!!

...Oh wait.. I just did.

Aaaaaanyways, this is just my current flavour of the week/month, I really can't pin point a favourite when it comes to songs, so individual lyrics are even more out of the question.

Also, "violence breeds violence, but in the end it has to be this way"

A few.

Celldweller's The Lucky One has this gem that get's me in stitches.
"Rusted linings on my black clouds. It's raining piss, will somebody tell me what's that all about?"
It's just out of nowhere and cracks me up

Nine Inch Nails The Warning
"'So much potential' or so we used to say
Your greed, self-importance and your arrogance
You piss it all away"
oddly fitting in regards to some people

I would say all of Dethklok's "I Ejaculate Fire" if only because it's the best song that describes a UTI/STD.
