So out of all 3 movies of Lord of the Rings, what's your favorite scene?

My scene is the Bridge Of Kazad Dum, and the bit before it.
They're running through the halls being chased by Goblins, and suddenly there's this massive roar and everyone's all like O____O Then Gandalf is like GTFO! So they all run out onto the bridge while the epic music plays while arrows fly at them, and suddenly CRASH The Balrog bursts through, and they are all like AW SHIT! But then Gandalf turns round like a boss and takes him down, but then he gets dragged down and they all cry.

I have two I can think of off the top of my head.

One: In Two Towers, the march of the Easterlings. As the warriors from Rhun enter the black gate, with their awesome equipment and their badass chants. It's just totally fucking great. Too bad we never saw them in action.

Two: When the Rohirrim charge into battle in Return of the Kings. The music compliments the charge perfectly. While in a real historical battle, those cavalry would have been massacred, the effect of the scene is still present greatly. When I see it, I get a sense of proud warriors heading into battle, fearless of death, with their blood brothers at side and their best friends, the steel they carry, in their hands. And as the battle is joined, the fallen go to their ancestors and their fathers, where they shall drink and feast 'til the endtimes.

Yeah, I get really into this shit.

My favorite part of the trilogy is probably the Battle of Helm's Deep.

The "I AM NO MAN!" scene in Return of the King was fun as well.

The whole scene at the end of the first movie. Boromir's death and redemption, it took damn near a dozen arrows to stop him. Aragorn going Super Saiyan on some Urak Hai ass. The fellowship being dissolved. Samwise telling Frodo he promised Gandalf he wouldn't lose him. That whole ending sequence is amazing.

Sorry to say, Papadoo, my boy, but I have a scene that is not only epic, but funny as well.

It's funny how despite this being a huge and important battle, Gimli and Legolas still manage to make a game out of it.

I enjoy many many scenes from those films. One of the most poignant for me is where Pippin told to sing for the steward of Gondor as he feasts, knowing he had sent his last remaining son and his soldiers to certain doom.

Probably Sam's speech at the end of the two towers. The naw effect of that speech is tremendous, I think my favorite characters of the series are frodo and Sam.

These two, and the speech Aragorn makes at the Black Gate always get me. The speeches in those films, and the performances by the actors leave me awestruck every time. It's one of the reasons I love the trilogy so damn much.

This. Well, half of this. I'd start with when Frodo is standing on the shore, ring in hand. And then that one string-note sets in and...

yeah. that.

hate how May It Be comes before In Dreams in the end credits :-/

Oh come on guys this is super easy, the best bit is near the end of Return Of The King when Aragorn is becoming a king. When he goes to the Hobbits and they bow to him and in return everyone present bows to them, it's just magical.

One of my favourite sequences was at the end of film 2, when Sam does his little speech near the end after the invasion of Osgiliath. It's a bit corny but it's also very moving, I find, and stays true whatever the time, whatever the reason.

Boromir's death was to me the best death scene in any movie, and my favorite LotR scene.

I sit up a little straighter every time I see this scene. I love it. Good contender for second place.

But it'll have to contend with:

That battle was most like the way I imagined it when reading the books.

My favorite scene is obviously the drinking contest. Except the ending, that's bullshit, Gimli had actually drank more!

Then there's the part where they take the Corsair ships.

If you're talking about the charge toward the oliphuants and the ensuing melee, then, yeah I'm with you on that one... awesome scene.

And the other one that comes to mind is the siege of Minas Tirith (before the Witch King rears his ugly head) when the two sides are chucking rocks at each other. One panning shot when a Gondorian trebuchet crew let loose smashing up an orcish catapult and then a stone coming out of nowhere that glances off a siege tower which then collapses on itself... combine with kick-ass music, brilliant scene.
