Favorite Mass Effect companion?

You can pick one from either ME 1 or 2. And with them all combined, there's obviously too many to fit into a poll.

My choice is still Wrex. He's got badass in all the right places. Of all Bioware characters, he's second only to HK-47.

Since I've only played one so far...I'm torn between either Garrus or Wrex. I used to love Wrex, but Garrus is pretty damn badass himself.

My favourite characters of the series are Garrus Wrex and Tali, but my star party in Mass Effect 2 was Mordin and Miranda. His incinerate and her warp and overload combined with my abilities as a vanguard made a very versatile party.

I loved Jack/Subject Zero. I kept her in my party for most of the game. I know she was kinda the stereotypical badass, uncaring *****, but she worked it. And the fact that she was all but topless didn't hurt.

I certainly think Wrex was my favorite. from the take-no-shit attitude, to the touch of the ultraviolet, he was the only character who seemed worth it.

I mean, anything to throw kaiden under the bus... all that "wah, I'm a biotic" and "doing good is the right thing" and "some of my skills may come in handy for situations other than battle, and that sorta makes up for my complete lack help in combat situations"

When I got the choice to leave someone behind, I thought it was the best point in the game.

Although ditching the chick you just ambiguously slept with sorta scored big points on the 'being a dick' portion of role-play...

ME1, I'd have to say Tali and Ashley. I was a soldier my first playthrough and so I couldn't hack lock or computer to save my life. And Ashley because, next to me, she was the most badass weapons specialist I had.

ME2 though, I would say I am good with Garrus(god I love his recruitment mission, so awesome) and Jack. I love Jack, she blows all my cares away. And by cares, I mean enemies. And by blow, I mean with a shockwave. And by away, I mean off the edge of a high place.

Indeed, Garrus' recruitment mission in ME2 was hella awesome, especially when you specialize in sniper rifles =). Not one person got in the damn building.

Mordin. He probably contributed more to do mission than anyone else just by making the counter-measure. Plus everything he says or does is either hilarious or awesome.

BTW are those achievements good for anything on the PC? I mean in the original Mass Effect they provided small bonuses which were quite handy.

They give you bonuses in your second playthrough.

Oh shit I forgot about Zaed, he's a badass merc AND has an English accent? I mean come on. It's just too bad you can't have an actual conversation with him. Oh well, at least his stories are plenty entertaining.

I have to go with Tali nearly all the way. I haven't played the second game.. yet, but when I do I know there's going to be a place for her in the party. In the first game her personality was entirely interesting to go through, and getting as involved in Mass Effect as a person can get I found myself verbally dressing down Ashley when she does her whole racist to aliens schtick.

You're definitely going to love Mass Effect 2 then.
