So Miracle of Sound, our resident Escapist Beethoven, is awesome. That much is clear, but what dear escapist is his awesomest song :)

My personal favorite is...
Actually I can't choose a favorite, so I'm going to pick one of my top ten at random *eni meenie mini mo* Joker's song!

I love how well this song captures the relationship between the Joker and his nemesis, Batman. I don't even know how to describe how awesome this song is... just listen to it!

[sub][sub][sub]And dat Joker voice is terrifyingly accurate D:[/sub][/sub][/sub]

What is your favorite Miracle of Sound song, and why?

Well I'm a fan of pretty much all of his music but I really like his cover of Somewhere Over The Rainbow that he did, maybe because of the uniqueness of it being the only non-video game/movie song that I've heard by him.

And there's a special place for the very first song he did as well, Gordon Freeman Saved My Life

Beautiful song
Love it. Though I'll say the opening makes me want to sing 'Love, it is a river'.

OT: Sovengarde Song.

Also, it's the most fitting for him currently, as it's literally about using one's voice to overcome adversity.

Wow, Beat me to to it in the OP.
The lyrics are perfect.
Composed to perfection as well.
I don't think there's much more I can really say about it.

Gotta go with Redemption Blues. I listened to most of Gavin`s songs after seeing this thread, and it was reaaaaally difficult to pick, but i have to say, my favorite Miracle of Sound song is Redemption Blues. Every time i listen to it, it sounds better and better.

Sovngarde Song is easily my favourite. Also quite fond of Calamity, Shadows in the Moonlight, and New Black Gold too.

OH GEEZ WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME AND MAKE ME CHOOSE ;;
Uh, I'll just go with the one I listened to the most: Calamity. I loved the beat and the lyrics and the game it spoke for.

I'm not actually sure if this counts as a Miracle of Sound song. But I know it was written by Gavin Dunne so I'm gonna go with...

Take it Back. His song about Mass Effect 3 that he released on launch day in it's honor.

It's awesome! It's inspirational! It was written before the whole debacle with the endings went down and thus is filled with unbridled optimism about ME3! When I hear it I just want to go do something monumental, just like Shepard!

ARRRGGGGHHHH.

Such a tough decision.

...

I'll go with for Nord Mead right now, just because it's currently my favorite song to listen to, along with Calamity, Crucible, and Rise

My favorite songs change regularly.

Out of the 52 that our lovely Gavin has released here, I only do NOT like 11. The ones I like, I really like, with the exception of 4 which I just like. So yeah, to me he is a great musician. However, as a musician myself, I have 2 ways of liking his songs: From a technical and from a primal standpoint.

The one that I really like from just a "I love to listen to this" more than all the other ones, would have to be Redemption Blues. That is just delicious to my ears from every aspect possible. The runner ups are Keep Drifting and RISE try to get up the list, but yeah, Redemption Blues gets the gold. From a technical standpoint, I really admire Sovngarde song. The way that song is structured, written and executed, marvels me. It would marvel me if it came from someone like David Byrne, so the fact that Gavin did something like that impresses me even more. Obviously it is one that I really like too, I wouldn't put a song that my ears consider turd like something I admire.

I know you didn't ask for this (Adam Jensen!) but the one that I think is the worst one would be the Duke Nukem one. Some time ago I thought that it was because I didn't like metal. But over this year I have developed an ear for it and I still find it unpleasant. Specially the lyrics which just feel plain to me. However, it is still a well developed piece of music. And I think it says a lot that the worst that Gavin puts out it's still a solid piece of music that would be a great highlight for some bands (Including mine).

Those are my thoughts on our talented gamer musician. Here's hoping that he gets all well from his illness and continues to develop and grow as a musician, because he basically sweats talent.
