Dota 2 player here, and I have a few favorite A-RTS characters, if I'm honest.
[sub]I refuse to call them MOBAs. It's such a stupid acronym.[/sub]

Perhaps not my favorite-favorite, but often one of my go-to picks if I'm to play "all serious". He's a fantastic support character, especially for pushes or ganks, can play as a semi-carry should the need arise, is really good mid, and has arguably the best level-1 ability in the game.

Tinker is fantastic. He's a phenomenal pusher, amazing nuker, can have universal map presence on a whim, and can snow-ball with the best of them. Being able to absolutely abuse the sheep stick and being voiced by the same actor who plays Issac Kleiner help as well.

Not really the most effective carry ever, but damned if he can't snow-ball by late game if you're not careful. His ability to steal attributes and buff his own attack speed and damage can be devastating late game.

He was just recently released, and I foresee a potential debuff on his ult, but even so I'm thoroughly liking this hero. His ability to switch between melee and ranged, on a whim, and his various abilities mesh well with one of my play styles and make him a boon in team fights. Plus, he can solo Roshan almost as well as Ursa, if not better.

Witch Doctor is often my first pick if I need to play as straight support for the team. He has an amazing set of skills that allow him to both heal and output a decent amount of damage. He also has arguable one of the best stuns in the game. I've already soloed two or three enemy heroes, killing all of them, simply by stun-locking them with his Paralyzing Cask skill and popping his ult. (Plus, WD with Mek, Urn, and Arcane boots pretty much negates the need for any allies to return to the fountain. Ever.)

Rikimaru comes for you!

I love using Riki, his play style suits me well.

I slide between sunbeams.
So you sit on the side-lines waiting to either jump in and kill-steal or prep to run away when things go poorly?

At least, that's what 90% of the Riki players I come across do. The less-than-useful ones, that is.

You're not one of them, are you? Surely not, right? Right?!

Abaddon, Lord of Avernus from DotA 1.
Been my favourite hero for years, it got better when they made his OP ulti even more OP.
Yesterday I saw that Valve are finally working on him for Dota 2. I am excited.

Nobody and I mean nobody fuck with Derpl Zork and SUSI.
"Clearing schedule for random acts of violence."

HE HAS A FUCKING CANNON THAT SHOOTS CATS! And he can also transform into a immovable turret that has high powered machine guns and a mini nuke launcher!

I have played LoL and DOTA2 but I just love Awesomenauts more then both of them combined. All of the characters in this MOBA are great. They all got their own splash of color and charm that just makes them so great.

Other great examples include:
"I Require more Technologee!"

"Nyeh see? Nyeh! That's right! NYEH!!"

"OM NOM NOM NOM!"

Also Gnaw has the best killing spree music by far.

Still waiting for goblin techies on DotA2. I remember getting saved by the guy as my support as I was getting ganked by 4 enemies in the first few minutes of the game. I was up with 4 k/a by the 3min mark. Crazy little fella.

Oh sweet. I clicked on this thread expecting to see another DotA versus LoL thing going on, and I thought I'd be the only one posted SMITE related shit. Lo and behold, the OP is a SMITE player. Well fuck me, that's cool.

I've not been playing long. When I first started Freya was on the free rotation and I stuck to her a bit. By the time she left the rotation I'd gathered enough to buy a god, and obviously I went for her as she's the only one I really knew how to play. She's cool. She's a bit of a mismatch as she's not really a mage and not really a carry. But she has a bit better of a laning phase than carries and a bit better endgame than mages. And her ultimate used right makes her the best tower diver in game. Early game, against an unknowing foe (anyone who doesn't get Aegis early enough), you can almost always get a kill as soon as the ultimate pops. I like her playstyle a lot.
I really despise freya because EVERY SINGLE TIME I have a freya ally they banish at the worst times, I've been denied out of about 3 penta's thanks to a misplaced banish.

Edit: Also great to see a fellow smite player.

Yep, that's me alright. I am so bad with that banish xD

That's probably why I'm looking at Hades next instead of the more obvious Odin; you can easily do more harm than good with Odin's ultimate, even though they're quite similar (similar synergies, e.g. with Zeus).

You can never go wrong with Hades. That silence is incredibly underrated. Unless you go full Physical.

As for Odin's ultimate, it's also very useful for locking down a few annoying people away from your team during a fight or giving Thor some one on one time with that Artemis.
