I don't know if you'd consider this much of a mod but the KOTOR 2 restoration patches really made the game shine by bringing out some of the cut content. Some of it was awesome (like the HK factory).
Argh! You're making it VERY hard for me to not buy that Saitek x52 I've been drooling over and then heading over to GOG. QQTelperion said:The Babylon Project [http://babylon.hard-light.net/], which is a Freespace 2 total conversion.
I have to agree:insectoid said:Nehrim: At Fate's Edge for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is fantastic.
I look forward to the eventual revisit to Dear Ester the mod designer is doing. I was entertained by the mod for it's sheer unnerving quality, but, I was bored a lot too.Cogwheel said:I was just about to mention a few HL mods, albeit for the sequel. Nightmare House 2, Dear Esther and Korsakovia are all excellent, especially the first and last of those.Ellen of Kitten said:/looks both ways
really? No mention for any Half-Life games? I'm the first one on that? THE mod monster of days past and so far no mention? Well okay.
They Hunger, HL1. Brilliant.
I'm quite fond of a few Dwarf Fortress mods too, like Dig Deeper.

I have not. What can you tell me about it?Cogwheel said:Ellen of Kitten said:I look forward to the eventual revisit to Dear Ester the mod designer is doing. Fair enough. I enjoyed Korsakovia more, myself. Have you tried it?
The premise is that Christopher, a patient with Korsakoff's syndrome [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korsakoff%27s_syndrome] is speaking to his therapist/psychiatrist/whathaveyou, Dr. Grayson. The levels consist of running about the areas he describes, getting lost as you search for the next door, using your crowbar to flail at nigh-invulnerable monsters that kill you and your framerate with equal efficiency, and infuriating platforming sections, as Grayson and Christopher speak in the background.Ellen of Kitten said:I have not. Yeah! that sounds FANTATIC! The gameplay as a whole is fairly irritating, and I'm reasonably sure that the level design is actually a crime against humanity.
...Sorry, I like snarking at this mod. That said? The voice acting, story (or the little sense I can make out of it), and especially the script are nothing short of phenomenal. It manages to be interesting, eerie and completely horrifying very, very regularly. I'd certainly recommend it, and if you can't stomach the mod for too long, try watching a playthrough of it on Youtube.
If you'd like to give it a try, just send a PM my way. I'll get the links (mod and playthrough) and help with installing it. I probably shouldn't derail the thread any further, though. Sorry.
