A bit of a weird one I know, but I really like the 'briefcase scene' in Collateral where Tom Cruise drops those 2 thugs in about 1 second flat, then finishes one off. First time I saw the film I never saw that coming, it happened so fast and it's stuck with me ever since.
I prefer the coyote scene.

One of my favorites from Lord of the Rings is the one where the Torch of Gondor is lit. The music combined with the sweeping vistas is just epic and awe-inspiring.

And this is my favorite scene from Serenity (and most of Firefly)

Haha that's awesome, time to add Falling down to the list of must watch
Its definitely a good film that depending on your outlook plays a game with whether or not Micheal Douglas's character is the protagonist or antagonist.

They sure don't make speeches like they used to.

Good scenes all. The Nightclub shootout is great too, as is the bit when Hands of Time is playing on the radio as Max and Annie drive through the night.

In fact, the whole film is so good virtually any moment or scene would fit in here.

DOES HE LOOK LIKE A *****!?

I honestly think that whole scene from Pulp Fiction is just superb, I can't think of anything that can top that first 15 minutes
This is a bit of topic but it is my thread so screw it! Anyway, I am one of the few people who has not seen Pulp Fiction, is it worth seeing?

I kind of want to just by reading that quote. Am I right in assuming it is a Samual.L.Jackson quote?
I'm probably the only one who will answer this way, but I didn't like Pulp Fiction. It's one of those movies that thinks way to highly of itself. However, I do think that since it's such a popular movie you should check it out. Even if I don't think I'll like a movie, I'm often still willing to see it just to see what all the fuss was about.

Dude, man. Immediately drop whatever it is you're doing and rent a copy of it...

But seriously, I highly recommend seeing it as soon as you get the chance ^_^ It's an outstanding film and definitely worth watching

If however, you're in the circle of people who don't enjoy the style of Tarantino's work, I'd still say it's worth a watch. It's a part of film culture and it shouldn't go un-missed, even if you don't like Tarantino ^_^
Thats 2hr 28mins and 1 second of my life I want back.

This movie introduced me to Gary Oldman!
I really love the part soon after the clip when Matilda returns.

"I killed you, Mr. Anderson. I watched you die... with a certain satisfaction, I might add. Then something happened. something that I knew was impossible, but it happened anyway. You destroyed me, Mr. Anderson. After that, I understood the rules, I knew what I was supposed to do, but I didn't. I couldn't. I was compelled to stay, compelled to disobey. And now, here I stand because of you, Mr. Anderson. Because of you, I'm no longer an Agent of this system. Because of you, I've changed. I'm unplugged. A new man, so to speak. Like you, apparently, free."

"Congratulations."

"Thank you."

"But, as you well know, appearances can be deceiving, which brings me back to the reason why we're here. We're not here because we're free. We're here because we're not free. There is no escaping reason; no denying purpose. Because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist."

"It is purpose that created us."
"Purpose that connects us."
"Purpose that pulls us."
"That guides us."
"That drives us."
"It is purpose that defines us."
"Purpose that binds us."

"We are here because of you, Mr Anderson. We're here to take from you what you tried to take from us."

"Purpose."

Kudos/cookies to anybody who can name the film and/or scene.

This scene from "Hero", fighting amongst the autumn blossoms. One of the most beautiful scenes from any film, especially when the forest changes to red:

There's a lot of them, so I'll pick a funny one for this thread.

XD

Incredibles is full of great moments, anything with Edna Mode is also gold. :)

Going to take a guess that it was from one of the Matrix movies, possibly early in the 2nd one? Sorry can't remember the scene, great quote though.

Most of these have been done, but:

"YOUUUUUU......SHALL NOT......PASS!"

Now I have a machine gun. Ho ho ho.

"Listen and understand. That Terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop -- EVER! -- until you are dead."

"My friends, you bow to no one!"

Two moments in The Departed: The out-of-nowhere shot to the face coming out of the elevator, and the very end, where the bad guy sees his own death, and just shrugs and goes, "Okay."

"You....HOCKED....a HATTORI.....HANZO sword." I can take or leave Kill Bill but that line, especially the way Carradine delivers it, is one of my favorites in any movie ever. It says quite clearly he is redlining every neuron just trying to comprehend the monumental stupidity with which he's been confronted.

Last episode of Buffy, final fight. The First makes the mistake of taunting Buffy, causing http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ShutUpHannibal and http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome?from=Main.CrowningMomentOfAwesome in rapid succession.

I have been studying film for nearly a decade and I have to say my two favorite scenes have to be the warehouse scene with big daddy from kick ass and the ending scene from fight club. Both had such perfect lighting great acting perfect pace great camera work and perfect sound.

Prolly the only scene where nick cage is actually badass and you can skip to about a min in

How can you not admire how perfectly they are framed.

I was also going to post an example from Hero but really (almost) any of the battle scenes would do. The movie, start to finish, is gorgeous. One of my favorite movies and probably the best movie that Jet Li has ever done. Would highly recommend.

That's definitely one of his best scenes. He is actually pretty awesome in the movie Face/Off though too.

OT: There are a bunch of scenes from the LotR that I love.
I always tear up after this part:
Sam's speech is just fantastic. Even Gollum looks like he was moved by it:
Always get goosebumps here:
Here too:
I pretty much full out weep here even though it's one of the happiest parts of the trilogy:

There are also a lot of instant classics from There Will Be Blood but I'll pick the most iconic one. BTW, Daniel Day-Lewis is the greatest actor alive.

There are so many more but these are all the scenes that especially stand out to me.

Close enough, yeah. It's Agent Smith's monologue to Neo in Matrix Reloaded, just before Neo proceeds to wipe the floor with dozens of Smith clones in a back-alley courtyard.

Good job!
