Oldboy, Toy Story, Eternal Sunshine and Evil Dead 2 each hold equal regard for me. And seriously, how has no-one mentioned Evil Dead 2 yet? I mean, come on!
I would have to agree, best B-Movie would have to be Evil Dead 2. Overall, though, Apocalypse Now is my all-time favorite movie. It's got everything: a great story, philosophical themes, action and intensity, Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando, and romance. Oh, and boobies. Can never forget about those.

Shaun of the Dead but Hot Fuzz a very close second. There both just so funny.

A Knights Tale was good, but it's one of those movies you hire out when your a bit older to get back into it and realise how bad it is.

Ohh so hard for me to choose...
Road To Peradition is probably the most beautiful movie ever shot. Each frame is a seperate picture in terms of lighting and cinematography.

Fight Club is a brilliantly edited piece of work but my vote goes straight to Pan's Labrinth.
Fight Club Yeah!! @*#% the world!!!
I really liked Fight Club

Call me weird, but I thought Pans Labyrinth was disappointing
Oh, and "Pans labyrinth" is a mistranslation. The original Spanish was "El Labyrinth Del Fauno" (Fauns labyrinth)

I'm a Sci-Fi junkie, so it's tied between:

-Back to the Future (1,2 and 3, they're all awesome)

-The Matrix (just the first one)

I liked the movie adaption of Mario Bros. Sure, the acting was terrible, but IT'S A FREAKING MOVIE ABOUT MARIO AND LUGIU!!!
Also, I loved Will Ferell in Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Blades of Glory

Edit: I'm not gonna say any of the Star Wars movies because if you're even a remotely hardcore gamer then you automatically love all of them.

Children of Men
Can I ask why particularly? I actually just got this out a few days ago, and I was quite disappointed. It had some poignant moments and powerful scenes, very Auschswitz at times (or for those who prefer gaming analogies - Half Life 2-ish, with humans being annihilated and controlled) but I just found that it lacked a cohesive story. To me at least it seems to be a few good scenes, with some dodgy parts between (again, like Half life 2). I think that's just me though, I also felt the same about Blade Runner - some great parts and ideas, a lack of a quality storyline to tie it altogether killed it for me.

Hard Candy was definitely powerful. The kind of movie that made you breathe out as the credits rolled, because you'd been so tense and enthralled up until the very end.

Fight Club - good recreation of a good book, definitely changed the way I thought about things.

Shaun of the Dead gets extra points just because of the levels it can be enjoyed at. Just on the basic level there's the above average comedy. Then zombie film. Then romance film. And then there's extra details, small references to other films and movies (e.g. Shaun walking to get flowers while ambulances rush past and people sprint away is a direct reference to the 70's version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, classic horror film). Certain shots used, background details, all the little pieces you start to notice after a few watches. Masterpiece.

Any Given Sunday - Just makes me say Wow most times I watch it. Good sports movie, with that great lifting feeling of watching the underdogs succeed, but also powerful direction/production from Oliver Stone. The argument between Pacino and Foxx, with Ben Hur and sky shots interspersed is probably the high point for me. And a few years later, there's now also a lot about Foxx's character that can be applied to his real-life career as well.

Primer - My lesser known movie plug of the day. Made on a ridiculously small budget, physics language which isn't dumbed down for a change, and a twisting plot so crazy it's hard to completely understand until you've seen it a few times - easily one of my favourite movies. Could not recommend it more to those who want to think a little when it comes to their movie viewing. You have to make sure you understand it though. Pay attention, watch it a few times if you need to, or google it to get a full rundown. It was ok when I first finished it. A google and quick read through later and it had improved. Second watch through I was in love.

Memento and Usual Suspects - Just because I love a good twist, and these are some of the best.

And of course, Romero's Dead series (Night of the Living Dead/Dawn of the Dead/Day of the Dead/Land of the Dead). Well made horror movies, a sense of suspense which is still carried years later, and interesting social commentary. The man's a legend. Can't wait for Diary...

I know there's probably more, but I think I've probably said my bit for now. For it to reach my top few, it generally has to leave me with a feeling of awe for an hour afterwards. The kind of movie that you just HAVE to tell everyone who'll listen about.

Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Pan's Labyrinth. Dunno which out of those. Saw Cloverfield yesterday and liked it too though. When I was younger I would have said Swordfish for the sake of nice tits. Oh, and Hot Fuzz was better.

I am torn about this... Hot Fuzz was just... SOOOO FUCKING FUNNY, but So was Shaun of the Dead... Nah, got to go with Hot Fuzz...
But there are so many great quotes from shaun of the dead. Hot Fuzz was good but not as quoteable.

It shocked me alot. During that period I would go to the cinema on a weekly basis religiously, and I'd seen every major Hollywood release at the time. I took a chance on Children of Men - the dystopian setting being a key selling point to me. I didn't get hyped at all, yet was so shocked by the quality of drama behind it. There are moments like where the final town is being bombarded and Theo is trying to move through it whilst avoiding the army, the camera constantly following him which are really... striking. The whole atmosphere really gave the movie something special. Indeed, it does have an estranged story ('we need you to take woman to coast' 'kk') tied together with a few scenes of them travelling on a road, yet overall it was the shock factor that sold it to me.

PR: I agree totally with the ending of Hard Candy. It would have been a lot better if she had left him scared and alone when his ex arrived, rather than actually having to kill him; far more in-keeping with the themes of illusion and deception throughout ('I'm gonna cut your balls off', 'I'm going to make yourself kill... yourself'). Again, it definitely shocked me because I had heard almost nothing about it prior to its release, and suddenly it was dunked upon me. Like CoM the story is somewhat randomised, but both characters have such awesome pieces that it is easy to overlook the faults in the plot.

I'll just tell you the ones that are on heavy rotation on my DVD changer but I will never be able to narrow it down to one. That's very much like asking me what my favorite game is.
1.) Pulp Fiction. Awesome movie with great dialog, story, and actors.
2.) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The best book/movie translation ever made.
3.) City of Lost Children.
4.) Sin City
5.) Royal Tenenbaums
6.) Oldboy
7.) Akira
8.) Everything directed by Stanly Kubrick (minus eyes wide shut)
9.) Evil Dead series including Army of Darknes
10.) George Romero's "Dead" series.
11.) Shaun of the Dead
12.) Seven Samurai
And since my Fiance is living with me now
13.) The Little Mermaid

Pan was a faun, well a Greek Goat-God who took the form of a faun ( God of fields, groves etc. only Greek god to properly die you know)

My favourite films well I'd have to say Back to the Future, all of them
I saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang a few days ago and suffice to say it's great.
