I THOUGHT I recognized that avatar! Cheers!

And I STILL can't watch the torture of Suzuki all the way through in Ichi. I can't help but think of myself in the same predicament and I dunno if I could take that kind of punishment. HOT GREASE!

"Excuse me, who are you?" I love that movie. I should probably watch it again. I also want to see Ichi because of its fearsome reputation.

My fav movies are:

1.) Blues Brothers
2.) Aliens
3.) The Professional
4.) Se7en
5.) Fight Club
6.) Akira
7.) Snatch
8.) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
9.) The Untouchables
10.) High Fidelity

honourable mentions goes to Predator, Drunken Master II and Spirited Away as well.

i just got back from see "you don't mess with the Zohan" oh my gosh...it was awesome! but not quite as awesome as Iron Man. BUT... My all time favorite is Sweeney Todd. i love music. and this movie had wonderful singing. (i am referring primarily to the newer one with Johnny Depp...not to say that the original wasn't good.)

I work at a movie theater, so i see movies for free. thus my opinion isn't tainted by the high ticket prices.

Call me weird, but I thought Pans Labyrinth was disappointing
Oh, and "Pans labyrinth" is a mistranslation. The original Spanish was "El Labyrinth Del Fauno" (Fauns labyrinth)
Pan was a faun, well a Greek Goat-God who took the form of a faun ( God of fields, groves etc. only Greek god to properly die you know)

My favourite films well I'd have to say Back to the Future, all of them
I saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang a few days ago and suffice to say it's great.
I know Pan was a faun, but the faun in "Pans Labyrinth" wasn't Pan.
??not confusing you am I??
????

Monty python and the holy grail, of course.
Star Wars(All of them, and you call yourselves geeks. More like average movie goers.)
I don't like movies all that much, I don't know how they got this reputation for being so great.

Hmm...

I recently saw a movie I really liked. I forget the title though. It was about the ultimate bank robbery and all the robbers dressed everyone as either painters or as graffiti artists. Could have gone either way.

I can't decide. Edward Scissor Hands was funny with a dark touch to it, but that's the only one I can really think of. Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away were also good...

Probably a tie between all of those.

AHH! I FORGOT STARWARS! A part of my Nerd pride just vaporized as if it were a bad explosion in the original star trek series.

Oh wait, now it's back.

It's a tie between Legend of the Drunken Master and Full Metal Jacket. Both of them are just so goddamn great from beginning to end. There are some movies that I need to be in a certain mood to watch, but I can watch either one of these at any given time no matter what else is going on.

The bank robbery movie with people in painter's gear you're thinking of is Inside Man. Really good film.

Excellent choice sir! My wife and I have it on DVD, which made for interesting viewing. Whenever I watched it on TV, the translations for Corey Feldman's dialogue were edited out, so that section never made any sense.

I flit between Don't Look Now and Dr Strangelove

Today it's Don't Look Now - an absolute masterpiece from every conceivable angle, it's composition is so flawless it would probably work as silent movie.

Pure genius.

The first movie of Matrix, Die Hard, Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean only cause the sequels all sucked, aside of lotr.

Also gotta love Inside Man, Remember the Titans, Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle and 3:10 to Yuma.
