I listen to a lot of music with no words, old world classical, big band & swing jazz, trance techno.

I could pick "Tocatta & Fugue in D Minor" on organ, I could pick the Swan Lake overture on harp, & "Everything Begings with an E" by Alice DeeJay, or even the Chatanooga Choochoo.

Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin is one of my most favorite pieces of music ever. Hope to be able to play at least the baritone/euphonium part someday.

Isn't that called an instrumental? Anyway...anything by Django Reindhart I guess, since none of his songs have singing (To my knowledge).

There are so many pieces by Yoko Kanno that I'd give my eyeteeth to learn. Julia, Memory, Go Go Cactus Man, Sold Your Soul, Hot Dog Wolf...

However, my favorite piece is by Tsuneo Imahori. It's from the Trigun soundtrack (episode 23, to be precise), and it's called Rakuen. So beautiful.

"Music for 18 Musicians" by Steve Reich.

It's an hourlong piece that has only...five chords in it? It's one of those songs meant to put you in a trance. Absolutely incredible what these musicians can do. Here's the first ten minutes:
