Favorite New Game Character This Year?

... what? I just finally happened to play Half-life for the first time.

Apart from that, I adore the Scoundrel from Diablo 3. He got more character progression than all the other characters combined, thousand great lines and is in general my type of person.

Scoundrel: After I die, you can have my rings.
Monk: But I gave them to you in first place!
Scoundtel *whispered*: No need to thank me.

I'm throwing in my lot with the Handsome Jack crowd. He was just great. Got excited every time I saw him pop up in an ECHO 'cause it meant I got to listen to him talk some more.

This, exactly. Like, whenever his face showed up it'd be like "SHUT UP GUYS I'M LISTENING" over skype just to hear what he'd say. Come to think of it, I though all the characters were pretty damn awesome. Even....claptrap.

I'm going to go with a lot of the people here and also say Handsome Jack. He really is a villain you love to hate. How many characters from Borderlands 1 and background NPCs has he killed in the game now? Christ. He's pretty damn hilarious to boot.

Ok... I am trying to think outside BL:2... because there are some great fun memorable characters that we won't forget... Tiny Tina is my fave from BL:2 though...

For realistic, beleivable characters, my fave of the year so far is Jackie from Sleeping Dogs... I love how true to life he is... and how he starts as a cocky idiot, but you grow to like him, and realise how he is stuck in this world, and doesn't know any different...

And then there is the twist...

Well, you must play the game to understand why I love these two.
Also play this game. Very unique take for an "RPG" if I can call it like that.

Handsome Jack just seems like an unoriginal choice now .

I love Borderlands 2, and I think one of the main reasons is I bloody love Handsome Jack. I love how he slowly becomes more and more scared of player as the story progresses. He starts off pretty smug, asking you to kill yourself, and by the end of it I'd go as far as to say he's seriously scared of you.

...Jack just put on that good of a show.

A bit early to ask that question considering there's a lot of major titles still to come - Dishonored, Assassin's Creed 3, Hitman: Absolution, Far Cry 3.

So far though? Maybe The Radioman from Spec Ops: The Line. Cracked me up a few times.

I was going to say Tiny Tina, but you make a good point. Borderlands really needed a true antagonist and Handsome Jack fills the role great.

Gotta agree with you there. I actually told my friends that if there would be a choice to join his side, I'd do it without second guesses. And while I'm still not really liking the plot twist in the game (the big one I mean) I really love how well the voice actor did his job and managed to pull off that change of character with Jack.

Can't say I'd join up with the guy, but I certainly love to hate him. To me, that's the best praise you can give to a villain.

Persona 4 Arena's Labrys. Her story got me teary eyed, and she is damned adorable.

Also, she is my type of fighting game character. She's got big normals, and straight-forward pressure. Nice and stable neutral game and okizeme.
