I've always had a love of big, bipedal, dinosaur-like pokemon like Rhydon, Tyranitar and Feraligatr, so my team usually has a Tyranitar in it and when I can get a totodile, I'll have a Feraligatr. It also just happends to be my favorite starter pokemon.

I can't imagine that Houndoom is under-used. That guy is such a badass.

I use Breloom, the evolved form of shroomish, a Fighting grass type?! MADNESS
Seriously though in Saphire its double useful against the dark and water types they use, also its attack is monstrous, also shroomish is adowable :3

Breloom is actually my number one, favourite Pokemon, well, the Breloom line because I can't forget Shroomish.

It's weird, all my favourites seem to come from the first and 3rd gens (or ones that gained an evolution in the 4th gen)
