For every great hero there is a great villain, often as iconic as the hero they oppose, but this thread is not about them, this thread is about the ones that aren't iconic, the ones who you generally need to explain to people who don't wear spandex to comic conventions.

I am going to leave obscure as a judgement call, the only condition being they can not have been featured in a successful movie.

Mine has to be the clock king from the 93 batman cartoon. His whole schtick was that he was basically an obsessive compulsive fascist.

That said, gimme' your two cents.

I would have to say old-school Catman, basically a Catwoman knock-off who found a costume that gave him the nine lives of a cat. When I first got into comics, the picture in the '88-'89 version of Who's Who really struck me and It's still the entry I think of as THE thing that got me into reading comics.

Wasn't the "Clock King" a one-shot villain anyways? I only remember him from that episode Batman has to slow down time somehow to toss a bomb into the river.

Ok I'm not trying to be racist here but there actually is a DC villian called Captain Nazi. Come on! Its a little funny. I mean think of the guy who thought him up. And what his power might be.

I would have said Ra's Al Ghul, but he was the main villain in Batman Begins. That makes him ineligible.

I'm going to say Parasite from Superman. Some people have heard of him but he's not Lex Luthor, and non-Super fans wouldn't know about him.

The Extremists, especially Lord Havok. Basically what you'd get if Doctor Doom was designed by DC.

I know he's from a hollywood movie, but i really loved "The Octopus" from The Spirit.

Near invulnerble, insane Samual bad-ass L Jackson with retarded clone minions.

Emperor Percival Tachyon from R&C Tools of Destruction. He's like a whiny 9-year-old kid, he has the classic R&C humour...and...well...his name's fucking Percival

Blond Catwoman will always reign supreme.

Barracuda was pretty good. Saint of Killers wins though.

Hands down.

He'd have the ability to reduce the cost of his gas bills.

Is that too distasteful?
