Show must go on was one of the last songs he recorded before he died, he was at this point very sick and was basically being held up to a mic by his band mates. May actually recorded show must go on himself as he thought Mercury was unable to.carlsberg export said:thanks for pointing that out!Zipa said:Brian May wrote it for the movie Highlander.carlsberg export said:Pretty sure Freddie mercury wrote that when he was dying.Aris Khandr said:Under Pressure scores a lot of points with me, just for also having David Bowie. But if we're looking for just Queen, I'd probably go with Who Wants To Live Forever.
He mentions the writer here.

I know he wrote songs knowing he was dying, I thought that was one of them, my mistake. I just had a dig and 'show must go on' came up. can you confirm this as being one of his last songs?
either way a hell of a band! my dad saw them play at Wembley too! mega jealous.
Mercury proved him wrong though, according to May he looked over the lyrics, downed a vodka proclaimed "I'll fucking do it, darling!" and nailed it in a single take.
The very last song he recorded was "Mother Love" and it is one of the most haunting songs ever, he didn't actually get to finish the song before his death as May had to sing the final verse which just adds to the feeling.
As for Wembley... yeah what I wouldn't of given to of been there even though it was two years before my birth. Thankfully though Queen recorded at least one concert per tour. I recommend checking out Queen Rock Montreal, it was recorded in HD quality and they are on probably their best form.
