Dawn of War: Necrons.

Never have I had more fun than sending wave after wave of my troops after them just so I can send a pair of Monoliths when my troops are finally wiped out.

Victory tastes like zombie robots.
I was more a fan of throwing tons of Flayed Ones in their base, then teleporting my Lord and activating his Resurrection Orb. SUDDENLY CANNIBALS.

for the sequel I'd have to go with the Chaos campaign because of Neroth. Doombolts. Doombolts all the time.

Age of Empires II- Teutons, the Teutonic knights are walking tanks.

Rome: Total War- House of Julii, with some of the best Infantry and Artillery in the game. Actually, any of the Roman factions will do.

Empire: total War: Britain. I have no idea why I like this faction, but I do.

My favorite overall may actually be the Green Army from Army Men RTS, simply for the nostalgia value of having an army of little green plastic army men.

Favorites from other games include:

Command & Conquer: GDI
Red Alert: Soviets
Tiberian Sun: Nod
Yuri's Revenge: Yuri
Tiberium Wars: GDI(Marked of Kane if you include Kane's Wrath)
Red Alert 3: Soviets probably, though I do like the Empire's advanced base defense looking like a big gun instead of a weird tower design.
Dawn of War: Orks, though its close between them and the Sisters of Battle.
KKND(1 & 2): Probably the Survivors.
Command & Destroy: Probably the Aliens.
Starcraft(1 & 2): Terrans.
Rise of Nations: Rome in the original version, US when it was added.
Generals: USA. I love all their intel gathering options.
Battle for Middle Earth: Mordor.
Warcraft(All): Orcs.
Empire at War: Consortium, though the Empire is very close.
Galactic Battlegrounds: Though they are all the same, I liked playing as Naboo just for the different look from regular SW factions(and I sure as heck wasnt going to pick Gungans very often).
War Front: Turning Point: Soviets, though all the factions are pretty cool. If only the gameplay was a little smoother.

In Dawn of War I usually go as the Imperial Guard or Eldar. As the Guard I deploy a rolling wall of guardsmen backed up by two leman russ tanks, a Baneblade and whatever else fills the cap. As the Eldar: Howling Banshees and council with farseer backed up by 3 squads of warp spiders and two fire prisms for artillery support. Surround and shred.

Otherwise: Soviets for their tesla coils & tanks in Red Alert, Nod for their obelisks and Kane in the Tiberium timeline and Mayans for their archers in AoE II.

Terran in broodwar. I love the space-redneck theme so much. In SC2, it seems that the space-redneckness was toned down and they seem more generic now. I still play terran but now that their coolest aspect has been eliminated, I like the other two races more.

Brotherhood of Nod, they're pretty scary and almost prophetic. I mean come on, they're a global terrorist organization that recruit people from resource rich third world nations using a religious cult. They plan to tank the economies of industrialized nations by gaining control of a newly discovered resource. They're ushering in an age of perpetual warfare while secretly controlling many large defense contractors used by their enemies.
