super metroid, damn that game was awsome

edit: oh shit, and E.V.O., I loved me some E.V.O.
What? Rachel Ray?
what is this rachel ray nonsense?
They were thinking of EVOO. That's what Rachel Ray calls Extra Virgin Olive Oil. She's weird, but still hot.
oh, yeah E.V.O. definatly wasnt that, it was a game where you started out as a fish and ate things to evolve and grow bigger and stronger, if you did it right you could even end up as a human

Either Super Metroid or Link to the Past. Flipping amazing games but unfortunatly for me I can beat them with ease now. :p

I never heard of EVO. I would love to play a game like that.

Gaaahhhh. This is really a tough choice. For me it's either Mario RPG, A Link to the Past, or Tales of Phantasia.

Most likely A Link to the Past, though.

I wouldn't be able to choose between Mega Man X, Turtles in Time, Star Fox, Final Fantasy III(VI), F-Zero, Gradius III, Final Fight, Power Rangers: Fighting Edition(it was a fun fighting game), Donkey Kong Country, Jurassic Park, Super Mario World... I could go on for a while.

E.V.O. is hard to find, I keep hoping it will end up on the wii virtual console but unfortinatly it seems unlikely but here is a vid of some begining game play

I'd go with Chrono Trigger. Extremely innovative as an turn-based RPG, almost eliminating the need to grind (Something that was eventually done by Chrono Cross). Also, the amount of possible endings the game had was absolutely unheard of in those days. It might be the largest SNES game ever created...and it was just downright fun. Loads of double techs and triple techs could change the way you fight depending on exactly which characters you chose to use, allowing for a surprising amount of customization. It's just pure classic and I love it. :3
I agree with that, for just those reasons, as well as because:
A. The characters were awesome, especially Magus
B. The story was full of twists
C. The villains, mainly Lavos and Zeal, were awesome.

although I did have to grind a bit to beat the Giga Gaia. That thing was so hard.

Illusion of Gaia and Mega Man X are also awesome, but I haven't made it too far in them.

Wow someone else who remembers Illusion of Gaia! that game was awesome....well...until the very end where
it flashes to a bunch of school kids in modern day
. That was a complete WTF!? moment but hell at least the other 99% of the game was good. Freedan FTW!!

I forgot about that game. I remember me and my mom trying to beat that game when I was younger and we just could not get past this level with sandworms
You mean the one with the pyramid? BUGGER! I always ran out of ammo before I could kill the damn things!

But no, Yoshi's Island just wins.

I loved so many games on the SNES, but my vote has to go to Mechwarrior. What can I say - I'm a sucker for giant walking tanks.

Runner up is Alien 3, because the movie Aliens is my second favorite movie of all time and Alien 3 was the only game around at the time that even tried to replicate the experience.

There's another one that I really can't remember the specifics of too well. It may have been called Flashback or some such. It was a side scrolling action/adventure game that had (for the time) absolutely wonderful animation and graphics.

Edit - I was partly correct. It was Flashback: The Quest for Identity. If it weren't for my love of Aliens and giant walking tanks, this would win without contest.

When I had the SNES I really didn't know what games to get because I was four. But I did get TMNT: Turtles in Time, which was a really good game.

I'm actually going to the flea market this weekend and I'll pick up some of these games, although I'm specifically looking for a JRPG. I'll subscribe to this thread.
