Painkiller + BOOH
Final Fantasy 7 and 9
Clive Barker's Undying

Painkiller because the average level is about 15 minutes long and filled with 150-250 enemies.

Final Fantasy 7/9 because they're fun to play, FF9 has some great FMVs for which I have made a special save.

Undying was one of the last true first person horror shooters. There certainly weren't any good horror shooters made after it.

Fallout 2 - The openness is unparalleled. Honestly, the dialogue choices alone make this game effing hilarious, let alone the fact that your decisions influence things to the point of a town becoming overrun by overgrown radioactive rats.

Mechwarrior 3 - Even though I think Mechwarrior 2 is the pinnacle of the series, Mechwarrior 3 is solid, has great customization (including custom skins for your 'mechs, if you like), a decent campaign, and felt like an extension of Mechwarrior 2. A couple small features that I liked, but could live without (Enhanced Imaging Mode), were removed, and replaced with a couple new ones (Coolant Flush). It had a decent instant action mode just like it's predecessor, and overall made for an interesting story-based single-player experience where you salvage the remains of enemy 'mechs and vehicles to end up customizing and creating a badass one for the next mission.

I have several others that haven't been listed yet, and since I could probably write a 5 page essay on Freespace 2, I'll leave it to someone else.

Though Metroid Prime is definitely one of the most amazing games I've ever played.

Metroid Prime. Just.....just play it. You will understand.
I understand! I BELIEVE! Raise your hands brothers and sisters and praise the lord!

Amazing graphics, amazing gameplay, amazing bosses, amazing adventure and yet it didn't have much of a story.
Yep, its one failing. You don't really notice while playing, the realization only comes once its over.

The Witcher, Mass Effect, KOTOR, God of War, Final Fantasy. All of those are equally as good in my eyes, all for different reasons.
