I'd have to say Rock n' Roll Suicide by David Bowie. The song is nothing but depressing until the final verse, when the rising cacophony climaxes in Bowie shouting through ragged vocal chords, "You're not alone." When I'm having a rough day, this song really helps.

Side note: I want to give props to neonbob, xmetatr0nx, and fanusc101. Folks like you, who welcome the first time posters, remind me why I came here in the first place. And, of course, to thedevilwearsprada: Welcome to the Escapist!

Buiikikaesu [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0CWpabTA6U] by Maximum the Hormone.

Excellent use of guitar, kicking bass, in-your-face drumming, and some great phrasing in the lyrics. Phrasing as in how it's sung, not the lyrics themselves.

Damn my lack of superpowered language comprehension.

One Week - Barenaked Ladies
I heard it once and it got stuck in my head due to it's nonsensical lyrics.
I've also never met a person who can't sing on from "Chikkity China..."

M4 Part II by the Faunts

You Found Me by The Fray

Dissolved Girl by Massive Attack

Let it Take You by Goldfrapp

Ah Uh Mi Hed by Shuggie Otis

Those are my favorites. I'm not really sure why. I just like them.

I really like all those songs but, right now, my favorite is called Prince Charming by Adam and the Ants

Welcome.
I'd say that Everlong by the Foo Fighters is one of my favourites.

At the moment it's Stolen Babies - Gathering Fingers. It's such a beautiful song, but not without that creepy twisted edge to keep it interesting.

Favourite of all time is probably The Dillinger Escape Plan - Sunshine The Werewolf. Excellent creative and technical prowess, a passionate performance, and the song has too little repetition to become boring over time. Although I rarely meet anyone else who can appreciate it.

Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica.

This is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of Metallica's songwriting. It is closely followed by For Whom The Bell Tolls, Fade to Black and Nothing Else Matters. The lyrics hammer home, the guitar work is flawless, the drumming complements the track perfectly, for this was before Lars got bored of interesting drumming, and the bass line is all-pervading, never resting.
