Favorite song... from a genre you don't usually like or listen too?

We all have favorite genres. Genres that we listen to more than anything else and we love with a passion. This thread is not about that. This is about the genres you rarely listen too or hate. But it ain't a hate thread neither[footnote]take that grammar![/footnote]. This is about those songs from genres (or sub-genres) that you usually hate or don't listen too, but you actually... like. I will list some of the bigger ones for me, but what are yours?

Anyway, I usually am not a fan of rap. It all begins to sound the same after a while (that might be because I am exposed to the crap). But, I really, really like "Gangsters Paradise" by Coolio.
In addition, while I like most all flavors of metal, I can't stand anything black flavored. So, it is fairly strange when I found myself liking "Her ghost in the fog" by Cradle of Filth.

Her Ghost in the Fog was a really good song by them! You may also enjoy Funeral in Carpathia, from their...I wanna say, 3rd Album Duke and her Embrace (God, did I love Cradle before Nymphetamine).

Anyway, I like a lot of different genres from J-Rock to Black Metal. Ya know what I hate though? Country...and yet...

And I've liked these songs since I was a kid; LONG before having fallin in love with and, living in a Red State.

Besides, I have a couple more. J-Rock and, Metal = Great. Rock and, Ska = good. Rap...well, how about some of this

Well, there we go, it's all out there. Biggie is pretty freaking awesome and some of his stuff (like Suicidal Thoughts and, Warning) are downright metal. Also a fan of Eminem to be honest...not big into him but I liked some of his old stuff. Please don't make too much fun of me for the country music ^^;;

I manly listen to electronica, but upon getting the Gurren Lagann and Evangelion soundtracks, my two favorite pieces were Nikopol (Gurren Lagann) and Kom, Suesser Tod (Evangelion). The former is a rap song, which is a genre I normally detest, while the latter is a blues song which is a genre I never thought I would like

caramelldansen could be considered dance if your using a vague definition, but its true genre is j-pop (guess what the J means). This type of music is common out there, give it a search.

(i only differentiate because i do like "true" dance music, and the related fields of techno,electro and house music, so i have a small bit of knowledge on the topic.
