not saying I don't like em anymore though or something but I just kinda turned in a different musical direction.
Sebastian Bach is by far one of the greatest singers of that era.
I love how with their first album you can hear the more anthemic 80s sound and with Slave To The Grind you can hear a heavier approach to it all.

Well, that's about as close as I can get with such a question. There are tons of different styles of metal, and each have their own likenesses.

Still, a lot of the metal I listen to has pretty good vocals (power metal) and background orchestration (symphonic). Actually, since I rarely pay attention to lyrics, a lot of metal subgenres and their bands have good vocals...
I know it's your own respectful opinion, but I can't contain myself: Not all metal is about the guitar and vocals!
