I agree to some extent. He is an incrdible song writer and I often consider him as one of my favourites...but for sheer comic and political audacity, Fat Mike of NOFX takes the prize for me.

EXAMPLE: You're Wrong

You're wrong about virtues of Christianity
And you're wrong if you agree with Sean Hannity
If you think that pride is about nationality, you're wrong

You're wrong when you imprison people turning tricks
And you're wrong about trickle down economics
If you think that punk rock doesn't mix with politics, you're wrong

You're wrong for hating queers and eating steers
If you kill for the thrill of the hunt
You're wrong 'bout wearing fur and not hating Ann Coulter
Cause she's a cunted ****

You're wrong if you celebrate Columbus Day
And You're wrong if you think there will be a Judgement Day
If you're a charter member of the NRA, you're wrong

You're wrong if you support capital punishment
And you're wrong if you don't question your government
If you think her reproductive rights are inconsequent, you're wrong

You're wrong fighting Jihad, your blind faith in God
Your religions are all flawed,
You're wrong about drug use, when its not abuse
I hope you never reproduce

You're getting high on the downlow
A victim of Cointelpro
You're wrong and will probably never know

This is by no means my favourite song by NOFX...but the whole song itself has some amazing lines in there that I readily agree with...Which is odd because I don't always find myself agreeing wholeheartedly with everything that my favourite punk bands sing about. Sometimes punk bands just rant and shout for the sake of it... *sigh*
*musicgasim* marry me
Um...ok...? Although I should probably ask why before I agree to this.

WHY??
because your fucking awesome and NOFX is on the same level of win as RTAM (highest level)

"It's my life, it's now or never! I ain't gonna live for-ever!"
"Me and Bakura we will have our revenge me and him will take your leather pants!"
"Russian Roulette is not the same without a gun. But since we're dubbed by 4Kids we must make do without one, Sucks!"
And last but not least:
"Would you beg if I asked you to beg? Would you flee from my awesome might? Would you cry if I broke your kneecaps? May I devour your soul tonight?
Would you tremble if I cut your face? Would you scream if I sprayed you with mace? Now would you die for the one you hate? It's a rhetorical question. Now die.
I can be your villain baby. I'll accentuate your pain. I will torture you forever. I will take your breath away"
Yes I like YGOTAS, what made you think that?

I remember a quote about song lyrics, "Whatever is too stupid to be said is sung." Thats usually how it works.
"Whatever is too stupid to be said, is shown through the inane act of Interpretive Dance."

I'm sure that's what it was.

That video is pretty funny.

"Alfred Hitchcock....COCK COCK COCK. ALfred Hitchcock." Best bit of it by far.

Who are RTAM? I'm sure you mean RAtM but I thought I'd make sure... I've never been a massive fan of Rage. I'll happily listen to and enjoy them but I have never gone out of my way to purchase a CD by them or even to make effort to listen to them...

And yes...I know I'm awesome. Not usually a conventional foundation for marriage but what the hell...We shall be wed by morning!!!

Wow mine is just so simple:

"Let the music take control, this sound is beautiful and I'll never let it go"

It's a song called (obviously) Never Let it Go by Story of the Year. The beginning is just brilliant. But one of my favourites :) something so simple that relates to how music makes me feel in 15 words.

If you fancy listening to it, there isn't a proper music video as it was a bonus track but it's here

Just had a bit of Elbow in the car, so
'I've been working on a cocktail, called Grounds For Divorce' - Grounds For Divorce

For that matter, anything that comes out of Neil Hannon's mouth is poetry.

This one verse hangs with me from Bayside - A Call to Arms

"With that said, I'm leaving today
I got some concrete ideas and they've been paving my way
towards all the
downtowns and urban decay
theres so much life in these bricks
theres so much buildings can say"

Brilliant songwriting.

Hear the song, even better in context =P

Just reminded of it the other day: "We can't spend our lives waiting to live" and "Simply because you can breath, doesn't mean you're alive, or that you really live", The Dirt Whispered and Black Masks and Gasoline respectively, by Rise Against. I could write a million Rise Against lyrics down here.

Also, and I'll say now that it could be pretty offensive:

You want me to fix up lyrics, while the President gets his dick sucked?
Fuck that, take drugs,
rape sluts,
make fun of gay clubs,
men who wear make-up
- Who Knew, Eminem

I don't agree with what's said, and as he's stated, neither does he. It's just lashing out at these 'rap creates psychos' morons, only instead of being bitchy, it's essentially trolling them.

Also, from him:

I slap women in each room, then OD. Don't you wanna grow up to be just like me? - Role Model, Eminem

Likewise, I don't agree with it at all, and I doubt he does either, it's just lashing out at those trying to censor his music. Even if you hate him and his music, you must admit, at least he isn't backing down. He didn't do that for another couple of years.
Rise Against used to be so good. Revolutions Per Minute is their best album, hands down.

Eminem is probably one of the most intelligent musical artists of the 20th/21st century The lyrics you posted are scathing parodies of rap music and, as you said, he doesn't believe in them. He does believe in the message he's conveying with them though.
He did some great things in his early career but has gone away from amusing observation and sarcastic sociological aspects in recent years. For shame Mr. Mathers...For shame.

Dead Embryonic Cells - Sepultura (1991)

Land of anger
I didn't ask to be born
Sadness, sorrow, everything's so alone

Labratory sickness
Infects humanity
No hope for the cure
Die by technology

This is my favourite quote/line from a song that means a lot to me and my husband.
Song - You Grew On Me
Line -
"When we first met you seemed fickle and shallow
But my armour was no match for your poison arrow
You are wedged inside my breast
If I tried to pull you out now I think I'll bleed to death,
I?m feeling short of breath."

If I had a gun I'd pump your ethics full of lead.
If I believed in meat I'd eat a plateful of our dead.

A Plateful of Our Dead - Protest the Hero

The second line is hard to understand and explain and can gain new meaning from everyone that reads it as they is no set definition of these lyrics as it hasn't been explained by the band and there is no general consensus of what they mean.

Something kind of sad about,
The way that things have come to be.
Desensitized to everything.
What became of subtlety?
And how can this mean anything to me,
If I really don't feel a thing at all?

Well, I'll keep digging,
'Til I feel something.

"When they come for me
I'll be sitting at my desk
with a gun in my hand
wearing a bulletproof vest
singing my my my
how the time does fly
when you know you're going to die
by the end of the night
say hey"
Keasbey Nights by Catch 22.

Voltaire - Dead

God is all knowing,
and God is all seeing,
just who do you think that you are to change his mind?
He already knows want,
and decided that you didn't need it.
So don't bother asking for cures or an answer,
God is the one who gave you the cancer.

Note: I'm not bashing religion, just bashing the people who believe that praying is the way to solve all your problems, or that God will solve everything in the end.
