From a game, yes. What game soundtracks do you absolutely love? If I can, after a few suggestions I might edit a poll into this topic, although I'm not sure if it's possible yet.

Personally, the first internationally released Fire Emblem game has my favorite soundtrack, thanks mainly to "Rise To The Challenge"

Which you may remember from Brawls soundtrack in the Fire Emblem Attack theme (All of the music in that medley is from this game, incidentally.) Super Smash Brothers Brawl is a second place winner, mainly because of how varied and nostalgic it is, with every song selected for a reason, and all of them damn well composed and played, like music should be. (Lies, I actually enjoy techno and stuff. Cue Flame Wars anyway.)

I'd also be remise if I didn't mention Katamari Damarcy. I mean, really.

How this cannot fill you with awe and glee is beyond me.

I think your video's are broken.

Mine are Mass Effect 2's soundtrack, Red Dead Redemption's and basically most Final Fantasy games.

For example, ME2 has brilliant track's like Suicide Misson and Illusive Man. Ot gives off that great mysterious sci-fi feeling.

Red Dead Redemption has track's give that really cool Wild West feeling, like Far Away.

And of course, FF has some great classic's and memorable tracks. (Geez, i sound like a TV presenter.)

Sorry for all the track's, i don't really have favourites. I find it hard to pick just one.

Silent Hill, hands down. (With and without lyrics.)
No other soundtrack I could listen to for two years straight and still like.

Well, my previous answer (because this is an often repeated thread. Grr) was always World of Warcraft, especially the Night Elf zones. But after playing Mafia II I'd have to put them in joint first place with the music from the Monkey Island series coming after.

Jack Wall did a damn good job with Mass Effect 2. In best overall soundtrack to a game Mass Effect 2 would be my pick.

The Soundtrack to the first Spyro the Dragon. I have it on my Ipod.
Failing that the Warcraft 2 Soundtrack, which I also have on my Ipod.

The original Mass Effect theme, I think, is brilliant.

Too many great Metal Gear moments throughout the years to pick for sure. I'll just use this one.

And say what you will, I thought Wet had some great music.

For me it depends on the state of my mind, if I want something fast, nothing beats this OST: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcFdB1lTIRA

And if something more relaxing is needed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1apu6dwDCV4&feature=related

Unsurprisingly for me, my favourite game soundtrack is Homeworld's. This is followed by the soundtracks of Halo 3, and Halo 3: ODST, both of which I rank equally.

Mass Effect 2's soundtrack is alright. Sounds like an electronic orchestra (which it might be, I dunno), and there are some good pieces like Thane and Samara's themes. But IMO, it pales compared to the above games in terms of music.

(And gameplay.)

Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown.
May have been a crappy port of a good game but DAMN is the music awesome!

Here's the first level of the original:

Now here is Total Meltdown's version:

Now imagine this change for all the music in the game.

For games it has to be Red Dead Redemption.

For Films it'll be without a doubt Where the Wild Things Are.

Oops, forgot to make my nomination for Films.

I'm split between Lord of the Rings and Star Trek (2009), both of which had really noticeably awesome soundtracks. Most films nowadays have music that just blends blandly into the background, which I don't really like. These two, on the other hand, are different.
