I grew up with a father who was nuts about Star Trek. So I grew up with Star Trek. It was a family tradition to marathon a Star Trek season every year. So I got to know all of the ships, all the captains and all the episodes rather well.

Anyway, what are your favorite episodes? I know you're out there...

Balance of Terror (TOS) - Kirk vs the Romulan Warship. Not only is it centered around a submarine-like space battle with both sides using every bit of knowledge they have to destroy the other; it also touched on love, hate, racism, tragedy and more. Cow like. Cow really like.

Living Witness (VOY) - Some other fans I've talked to really don't like the doctor but I quite enjoy Robert Picardo's performance. This one was a great mashup of different perspectives with an Evil Voyager and an alien planet that has race issues. The end makes you wonder whatever happens to the Doctor...

The year of Hell [both parts] (VOY) - Another Voyager episode on my list. I've always liked timetravel but it usually seems a bit cliched. The year of Hell is completely different. No anomalies, just a race of humanoids who mess with the timeline. This is almost a Voyager movie. We see Voyager take an absolute pounding and the loss of many characters. I really enjoyed this one.

Tapestry (TNG) - It's an entire episode with Picard and Q. 'Nuff said.

I know you Trekkies are out there! What's your favorite?

Pretty much any episode with the Borg, especially the one where Q kicks them half way accross the galaxy, the borg took a dive when they introduced the queen IMO.

My favourite star trek eps are books though, most of the new frontier books. Theres a helmsman called Mark Mchenry, he's the grandson of Apollo from that TOS ep. at one point he ***** slaps Q. So gutted they made Enterprise instead of New Frontier.

The trouble with Tribbles.

Just kidding. Actually, it is the episode where Data and Wesley save the ship from the evil video game. Absurd and funny.

Special mention goes out to the Voyager episode where Chakotay is trapped in a guerrilla war between ugly aliens and gung ho militarists, with the big twist that it was part of a simulation training by renegades.

PRetty much any episode with Q in TNG.

Though I also enjoy that episode where Picard is believed to be a God, and when Data makes a daughter the first time.

My three favorites are The Menagerie, and The Squire of Gothos from the original series and Darmok from The Next Generation. Yes I know The Menagerie was a two part episode, but I consider it one.

In the Pale Moonlight from the sixth season of DS9.

Arguably the best episode of Star Trek altogether, it really makes you think about what people need to do in desperate times. This episode blew me away when I watched on TV oh so long ago.

I don't remember what it was called, but the episode where Spock got messed up on those alien spores cracked me up. It was a laugh and a half and I loved every bit of it.

My second favorite, and again I don't remember the name of it, would probably be the one where they visit that planet that's having a war with another planet, but the war had gone on so long that they decided to take the horrible parts out, so now all the kills are calculated by computers, and both sides simply accept when a computer says someone is dead and they kill them themselves. That was an episode with something to say, and I loved it for that.

BEST OF BOTH FUCKING WORLDS PART 1 AND 2.

Also, The Inner Light, that one where Picard lives a lifetime in that place after having a transmission sent to his brain. The one that introduced this-

I will admit to loving Voyager. In fact, reading through a list of episodes, season one is nearly 100% gold... And it only gets better from there.

The Movie where the 4th wall was too broken. The one where the crew gets sent to the 1970s.

Star Trek: The Next Generation:
"Encounter at Farpoint"
"Hide and Q"
"Q Who?"
"Déjà Q"
"Qpid"
"True Q"
"Tapestry"
"All Good Things..."

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine:
"Q-Less"

Star Trek: Voyager:
"Death Wish"
"The Q and the Grey"
"Q2"

So yeah anything with Q (John De Lancie) in it. The idea of an omnipotent charecter who isnt "God" is genius. On a side note I met John De Lancie in person and had a discussion with him, he is very intelligent and a great guy.

This is definitely up there. The scene at the end where it turns out that the flute was inside the probe, and Picard's reaction to being given it in the real world... damn.

Chain of Command is another of my favourites, partly because it was actually the first episode I saw. Yesterday's Enterprise was brilliant as well.
