We all have one. Whether it be something from Chekhov to Sophocles tell us your favorite drama, comedy, or musical(theatre wise). If you have not seen a theatre production, I SUGGEST YOU DO! Heck check out Julius Caesar! Great play to start with. So what is your favorite theatre production?

RENT...just saying that made me feel like a low post count person thingy
I liked RENT because it was an awesome musical... that's what we're talking about right?

Yes, Plays and musicals!
Well in that case- I liked the RENT I saw for its original design of the set(there was no unimmersive moving of crap) and the actors/actresses were really good. The costumes were well designed and the sex scene between "angel" and "whatever the hell the other guys name was" was really well done. I also liked OLivar when it was put on in my city but it was because I liked seeing the kids screw up :D

I saw a production of Rocky Horror a couple of years ago. Greatest musical ever, stage or screen.

Wicked at the Gershwin Theater with the original cast was amazing!
I loved The Producers at St James Theater.
And I saw a rather well done production of Lil Abner.

I got a sneak peek of the upcoming Spider Man production, and I have to say... it's in the running.

Actually, I got a chance to see Phantom of the Opera 15 years ago, with Colm Wilkinson playing the Phantom, and that was the best production I've ever been to. Also there was still a dress code and people didn't applaud after every fucking song, so the show got to actually flow properly. Saw it again a few years ago, and my GF and I were the only ones in the entire theatre who'd dressed for it, and it took an extra 10 minutes to get through it because every song was followed by applause. Showing appreciation is good, but save it for the end.

I really enjoyed being there to watch Sweeney Tod: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
There was just certain songs in it that I could listen to over and over again =]
I completly agree with you, I saw my schools production of it and it was amazing so if I saw the actual thing then well, it should be beyond amazing. I loved the song so much, I had some of them stuck in my head for weeks until I got the soundtrack.

The film version sucks in comparison.

I do want to see Wicked though, I've been reading the book so I want to see the theatre version.

I've only been to two professional ones, but I thoroughly enjoyed both.
The only one the name of which I can remember is The Woman In Black, a horror-play.
It was bloody brilliant.

There's an amazing Shakespeare company in Shenendoah, VA that puts on some of the best plays. Wicked in Durham, NC was incredible, but my first big experience was Phantom of the Opera in Washington, DC. When he sang "Music of the Night," it gave me chills.

Wicked was pretty amazing, although I spent a whole ten minutes suppressing the whole 'I bet half these people don't even know the book exists' feeling. And I enjoyed Sophocle's Antigone as well. I'd really love to see the Importance of Being Earnest performed, but for now I'll have to settle for the film. It's one of my favourite plays,

I've seen a couple of decent Macbeths (and one really, really bad one), but I have yet to see one that really pulls off the whole thing. The witches should scare the shit out of the audience, and I've never seen any that could really do it.

I've heard good things about Our American Cousin, but I've never really heard how it ended.
