As far as Video Games go, I have to give a shoutout to the game that I think has the best themes ever: Touhou 8: Imperishable Night. And the best of the best has to be this song, wherein you fight the hardest boss of the game, the immortal Fujiwara no Mokou:

Now imagine this in the background when you're weaving through 17 deadly attacks, engulfed in a crucible of flame where an errant twitch means death, and knowing that no matter how well you do, you can never defeat your opponent for good. Epic.
