You know, I could write a sentence on how every achievement in Left 4 Dead was a very good one. I won't, of course, unless someone really wants me to.
Do it.
Going from This list [http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/left-4-dead/achievements/]:
Helping Hand (20 G)
This achievement teaches players to revive their teammates, and gives you a good reason to do it, rather than abandon the injured. By the time you've had 50 revives, you'll be good enough to do it consistently.
Field Medic (20 G)
This is for healing many teammates. Similar to Helping Hand in teaching good teamwork.
Pharm-Assist (20 G)
This one is for teaching the important task of sharing your PEELZ HEERE!
My Bodyguard (15 G)
Protecting a teammate from a running Common is tricky, but this achievement helps you practice. Also teaches teamwork.
Dead Stop (10 G)
This. Is. Badass. The achievement tells you that it's possible, and once you get it, you have the confidence to keep trying.
Cr0wnd (30 G)
Like Dead Stop, this teaches an effective method of dealing with a specific Special Infected threat. Also causes interesting moments with a team "taking turns" on Witches.
Untouchables (30 G)
Not taking damage after contacting rescue is really hard. Getting this achievement once is a team effort, but unlike other achievements that take 4 people, this one can be done in a few minutes. It's a good task for someone who's used to the normal challenge of the game.
Drag and Drop (20 G)
Killing a Smoker before it hurts a Survivor is difficult, but it's also possible to simply free the Survivor with a melee hit. This achievement, like Dead Stop and Cr0wnd, gets you to deal with Special Infected the right way.
Blind Luck (20 G)
Another achievement for dealing with a Special Infected the right way. Note that this gives the achievement to the entire team if someone is puked on and doesn't take damage. This teaches that the appropriate method is to have the team cover the puke victim.
Akimbo Assassin (30 G)
Considering the weapons in Left 4 Dead, it's inevitable that someone would try this. Anyway, it's good practice for when you run out of ammo.
Hero Closet (10 G)
Giving a reward for basic teamwork. When you have 3 achievement whores on your team, this can even lead to a race to get to the rescue.
Hunter Punter (10 G)
Another one for clearing an Infected threat. It's an important skill to melee a Hunter away from its victim.
Tongue Twister (20 G)
This takes very good speed, but once you've done it, the reflexes are there to do it again.
No Smoking Section (15 G)
This is a counting achievement, and it credits you for dealing with a threat to the team.
101 Cremations (20 G)
Fire is a useful anti-zombie asset, but new players aren't very good at killing many zombies with Molotovs and gasoline. This gives them necessary practice.
Do Not Disturb (20 G)
This encourages people to stay far, far away from Witches. Which they should do anyway, but some people haven't learned yet.
Man Vs. Tank (30 G)
Like Hunter Punter or Cr0wnd, this is an achievement that's mostly there for being completely badass. I still fondly remember the first time I outmaneuvered a tank to kill it single-handedly.
Tankbusters (20 G)
This achievement is given to the entire team, and helps teach the roles of running away, shooting at the tank, and doing both simultaneously. Also rewards players for simply fleeing a burning tank, which is the proper course of action on any difficulty except Easy.
Safety First (30 G)
"Dammit, Francis, check your fi-"
"Zoey, watch -"
"Stop shooting, Lou-"
"Goddammit, stop shooting me, Francis!"
Let's just say it's nice when a team learns to stop shooting
everything that moves.
No-one Left Behind (20 G)
This takes a good degree of teamwork to get, but it's a result that every survivor is happy with.
Unbreakable (30 G)
Like Akimbo Assassin, it's a new game mode for someone who would probably have tried this at some point anyway. Also teaches health kit conservation, which is necessary on Expert and Versus.
Witch Hunter (20 G)
Witches have a tendency to badly injure, or kill, 1 person. This person is very grateful when the witch is stopped before that point. It's nice that all 4 survivors get the achievement, since it often takes that much power to bring a witch down. Of course, if the witch was Cr0wnd, you still all get it.
Red Mist (20 G)
Like 101 Cremations, this gives practice with an unfamiliar weapon.
Pyrotechnician
Explosives practice! Unlike Red Mist and 101 Cremations, it counts kills from a single explosion. That's good, because the goal of any pipe bomb should be to get at least 20 kills.
Zombie Genocidest (20 G)
It's not getting this achievement that's good, it's the journey. The game keeps a precise count of your zombie kills until the moment you get this achievement, and then stops counting. Oh, how I wish Valve would have kept the count going afterwards.
Dead Giveaway (10 G)
Rewarding selflessness is always good. That's the purpose of this achievement, to inject a moment of altruism into a team with too few medkits to go around.
Stand Tall (20 G)
Being incapped is bad. Never being incapped shows that you are very good or very lucky. Or playing on Easy with a good team.
Zombicidal Maniac (30 G)
The standard achievement for any game with difficulty levels, to clear it on the highest difficulty.
What Are You Trying To Prove? (35 G)
Valve correctly anticipated that some campaigns would be more difficult than others. This achievement is the ultimate test of skill.
Nothing Special (30 G)
Another major test of skill. Like so many others, this virtually requires the skill of assembling a skilled team of 4. Everyone gets it or doesn't, so no-one feels left out.
Burn The Witch (10 G)
Teaches and encourages the flammable method of dealing with one of the Boss Special Infected.
Towering Inferno (10 G)
A bit trickier, as Tanks make moving targets. Still teaches you that a burning Boss is much easier to kill.
Spinal Tap (10 G)
This is a tricky method of killing infected, that would be little-known if not for this achievement. Done correctly, a team can silently kill a room with a series of punches to the backs of zombie heads.
Stomach Upset (20 G)
Dealing with a Special threat - in this case, never letting a Boomer get near the team. Hear the bastards coming and shoot from the other side of a wall to get this achievements.
Brain Salad (20 G)
The first 100 headshots are the hardest. Gets players ready to take zombies down with bullets to the brain on Expert.
Jump Shot (20 G)
A skill shot, that is often necessary to deal with a sudden attack. Rewards players for doing something good, and points it out so they can brag to the team.
Mercy Killer/Toll Collector/Dead Baron/Grim Reaper (15 G each)
Rewards players for actually surviving each campaign. When someone doesn't have this, they'll probably want to sacrifice others just so they can make it - basically, it promotes more realistic Survivor behaviour. When only 1 person doesn't have it, the rest of the team can become very selfless.
Back 2 Help (20 G)
Sometimes a good move, sometimes not. Well, this achievement teaches the player which is which.
Ground Cover (30 G)
Killing a Special Infected while incapped is a vital skill, and it's even better if that Special is on a teammate.
Clean Kill (10 G)
Another achievement that teaches the correct method to deal with a Boomer.
Big Drag (20 G)
This teaches an Infected player the value of dragging a Survivor away. It rewards a good pull, since you need one to get that sort of distance.
Chain Smoker (20 G)
This is either a reward for killing someone, or for escaping after someone saves your Smoke'd victim.
Barf Bagged (20 G)
This is how Boomers should be played. This achievements makes players strive for 4, which is way better than when you settle for 3 or less.
Double Jump (20 G)
Again, a reward for either escaping or for killing someone. This one's for hunters, so it serves to gauge someone's relative skill as Hunter or Smoker.
All 4 Dead (30 G)
A great achievement for a Tank, this tells players that it can be done. So they do it. It's especially great when all 4 kills are delivered by a car. STRIKE!
Dead Wreckening (20 G)
This counts total damage as Infected, and gives rewards to players who can dish it out the most in Versus. This isn't Campaign - the kill count really matters.
Lamb 2 Slaughter (20 G)
This is the Special Infected answer to Back 2 Help. It's difficult, but it gets the Infected to punish any fool that wanders back out. This is Versus, be happy you survived.
Ok, I'm done. Yep, every achievement has a useful contribution to teamwork, rather than being simply "filler".
