(AKA My Master-plan to force everyone on the website into a En-Mass TV Tropes loop)

So Escapists, Tell me, in the hours you've spent on TV Tropes, What Trope has appealed to you the most?
No, I am not asking this because I've spent the last day in a loop and I wish to inflict my misery upon other people, what would make you think that? >_>

*Ahem* Mine would be SNK Boss, A Term used for those fucking cheap ass Final Boss Characters in Fighting Games.
First off, I'm a fan of Fighting Games so right off the bat, I'm interested.
Second, It refers to a number of games that I like and enjoy.
And finally, that Picture of Von Kaiser from Punch Out!! gets me every time.

So, Post a link and explain yourself.
*Returns to his endless loop*

Captcha: Kleenex: Sorry, too busy to Fap.

I just love when this is done well.

Getting entertainment from the Something Awful mock thread. Easily the best part about TvTropes.

My favourite has to be Buffy Speak [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BuffySpeak] and other funny tropes, like "Suspiciously Specific Denial", "Major Injury Underreaction", "Skewed Priorities", "Bread Eggs Milk Squick"... blah blah.
For gaming purposes, it has to be Video Game Cruelty Potential he he he!

Probably my favourite trope is <link=http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AbsurdlyIneffectiveBarricade>the Absurdly Ineffective Barricade, which we frankly don't see enough of. Pure comedy gold.

My favourite PAGE, however, is <link=http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/NightmareFuel/DwarfFortress>Dwarf Fortess/Nightmare Fuel. Because if your fortress isn't producing some form of nightmare fuel by the end of it, you're doing something horribly wrong.

Wait what?

Uhh, probably the Yandere and Tsundere pages. Yandere because any page with Gasai Yuno as the poster girl is fuckin' cool and the Tsundere archetype is one of my greatest weaknesses. It's so cute!

Fuckin' Drow. Being all aloof and mysterious and stuff. She just wants a hug! All the frost arrows are her being Tsun as fuck and we all know the best Tsundere characters have a Tsun:Dere ratio of 80:20!

While we're on DOTA, someone raised the point that Anti-Mage is actually Tsundere towards magic because his ult does magic damage... Mind blown. Fuck it, that's instantly canon as far as i'm concerned. I mean the Tsun:Dere ratio must be like 99:01, he's not called Anti-Fun for nothing.

His autoattacks take your mana then his ult does damage based on your missing mana. One huge fuck you to mages everywhere.

Xanatos Gambit for me. Especially with all the things it can result in, and I can feel all smug because most people don't seem to see the difference between Xanatos Gambit and Batman Gambit.

Speaking of Batman, the Bat Deduction is another really good one.

Of course I love tropes with punny names too, such as "Chairman of the Brawl", "Grievous Harm with a Body", "Bloody Murder", "Cool and Unusual Punishment", "Of Corpse He's Alive"...

Honorable mention to "Makes just as much Sense in Context".

One that I HATE is Can't Drop the Hero. Especially if my party member's have a revive spell.

One that I love is Chekhov's Gunman/Chekhov's Lecture. Especially when you notice it on a second playthrough.

My favourite has to be The brigadier, who is

"Any senior military person in a sci-fi drama who is a good guy. Will sometimes be skeptical of the existence of the Monster of the Week. When convinced and facing the current menace, Five Rounds Rapid is usually his default response to deal with it. However, when that fails, he is generally ready to admit when he is wrong and is immediately open to other ways to handle the situation. By senior, we mean someone above the rank of Colonel or naval Captain. Often, The Brigadier is also a Reasonable Authority Figure.... A natural employment for an Officer and a Gentleman. See also: Four Star Badass.

The main reason for it? Well, to quote TV tropes] again...

"The aforementioned Lethbridge-Stewart as played by Nicholas Courtney is the Trope Namer. His first few appearances embodied this trope a lot stronger than he did later, as repeated encounters with the Doctor mellowed him out somewhat. In the serial "Battlefield" he had retired and been replaced by Brigadier Winifred Bambera... though when he does show up, he still gets called "Brigadier" far more often than anything else (like, say, Alistair). "

And I am of the very firm opinion that the ol' Brig is a total badass.

I do enjoy the occasional journey into the darth wiki pages, specifically any particular "So Bad, it's horrible" page. Whether I come across a rant on a work that agree with or a rant where I can just sit back and laugh at how seriously that person seems to be taking a piece of media, there's always handful of gems to be found there.

I do love reading that One Boss page especially for games that I enjoy playing. Juuuuuuuuuust because it feels more satisfying once I beat a boss that everyone else has troubles with.

Also I just feel like posting this image.

I like the Broke Your Arm Punching Out Cthulu trope because, despite its highly specific nature, combining Pyrrhic victories with eldritch abominations, there are a metric ton of examples.

Wouldn't be much of a Cthulhu if you could just punch him out, now would he. No no no, one does not simply punch out Cthulhu. And I am definitely not saying this just because He may be listening. Nope nope nope. [http://popecthulhu.ytmnd.com/]

Death of the Author [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DeathOfTheAuthor] is my favourite page on the site, but Blue and Orange Morality [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlueAndOrangeMorality] is my favourite actual trope.

Probably tropes like "Wham Line/Episode" and "Tomato in the Mirror", y'know, the big twists in the story.

EDIT: Also, "Ragtag Band of Misfits". What can I say? I'm a fan of the underdog...

I almost always enjoy a game/ book/ movie/ tv show if it employs the trope "Anyone Can Die" well. There's something about knowing that nobody's safe that often makes things much more involving and engrossing for me... Even if I sometimes end up feeling really down when sympathetic characters get killed off out of the blue. The trope can be very brutal and downright soul-crushing, but it's power, when used well, can't be denied, and if often makes for some really memorable moments.

"Anyone Can Die". If it's done well, the viewers/readers/players will value the lives of the characters they like and enjoy their development more. Plus, it adds that healthy air of suspense and discomfort.

On the other hand, authors shouldn't be so trigger happy with it. If its done in excessive amounts, the audience will have a hard time attaching their emotions to soon-to-be-slaughtered plot cattle.

I didn't even know this was a thign, but I am so guilty of it. Both in real life and in writing.

I think this is my new favourite for that reason alone.
