I'm sure there's been a post like this in the forums before, but search-barring it didn't bring up anything posted in a very long time, and I'd like to see user responses.

By this I mean a villain in anything, not just video games, though they certainly apply.

Mine, for instance, might just be The Master in Doctor Who, although that's a current preference, and like any other preference, it shifts over time.

Hmmmm...that's a toughie...I'll have to go with Ganondorf. Hard-to-kill, tall, lethal, brutal, and...err...green.
Seriously, though. What other villain has a fraction of the power of the gods purely by virtue of being the most powerful guy around? Isn't that like taping a nuke to a pound of thermite?

Lt. Marta Velasquez. Game: Traffic department 2192.

Although she's not a villain for almost all of the game.

Wicked Witch of the West.

***** stole her shoes! And all she ever wanted was to star in a musical!

There's something about Hannibal Lecter that gives me chills. Now, I wouldn't necessarily call him a villain, but damn.

tough choice... but I'm going to say...

Games: Ganondorf. He's been doing the same thing for 20 years, and yet he still can be taken (somewhat) seriously.
Comics: Bullseye for Marvel, Batman's entire rogue gallery from DC (I just can't pick one...)
Anime: Light Yagami (really, most people who have a god complex in anime and can back it up, just this is the my favorite example)
Movies: Emperor Palpatine. Probably the only character to benefit from the prequels.

I could go on all day, but these are my top picks.

X-Men's Mr. Sinister. He's wicked, intelligent, and his plans almost always seem to work out in the end.

Or there's always the Great and Mighty Poo, for various reasons...

Holy shit I didn't think anyone else had played that game!!! I remember figuring out you could change all the dialogue in it with a text editor... awesome game.

OT: Kefka or Seymour Guado. They just KEEP COMING BACK. Like all great villians, fuck your day up if "YOU ARE NOT PREPARED" /Illidan
