I really liked the Role Playing maps honestly, as cheesy as they were. For those not familiar, you didn't real have a "goal", you just kinda messed around and told a story. Kinda like ehhh... It's a horrible comparison, but Dungeons and Dragons without the stats.

I remember I had a game where I played a Bandit that went on for hours, as well as a time when I was a Pilot.

The Resident Evil/Night of the Living Dead maps were fun as well, especially later on when they got more complex. When these maps started it was literally just 8 (its 8 right?) people that just kinda stood around while their marines shot zombies. It was still fun though, you had to get to the right place to stand, and since there was little game-action involved, you could talk to people and meet some really interesting characters. Later on the maps got more complex, and you would have different weapons that you could pickup/drop, you had to keep an eye on your ammo (and press "r" to reload), and you could set traps. There was a level up system and boss fights as well as mission objectives. It was crazy.

If you could find decent people, Life of a Peasant provided some interesting entertainment as well.

The actual game of Warcraft 3/Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne is very good, and it's strange that people are in some cases more familiar with DOTA than the game itself.
I can`t beleive i forgot about life of a peasant it was wayy better than the sims , if only because you could join the police and kill people, and then buy a house

Elemental TD.-the simple game mechanics pull me in so easily adding an RPGish element with all the different tower combos.
Risk games-esp. lotr risk. Nothing like conquering middle earth in an easy 1 hour sitting.
Footmen Frenzy.
And as others have mentioned, DotA brings me back to WC3 nearly weekly.

I loved the DoBRP series. But DoTA, DoTA is my bane.. I hate that map with a passion.. it killed all the RPers.
THIS-- F DOTA

I like TD's the most. Elemental and Gem are really good.

LOTR The ring wars.
Theres little that can compete with holing up in moria after the rest of the evil side has been annialated, posting balrogs at the doors, and wiping out the whole good side with gollum.

Jurassic Park. Period. Nothing's better than surviving in a theme-park-gone-wrong with your buddies.
I know this is off topic, but that would make a good L4D campaign in my opinion, a theme park, after hearing you say it. Although there may be a lot of children and is shooting zombie children bad?
It most definitely is NOT. It's their own damn faults for stuffing their faces with infected cotton candy. (Actually, that WOULD make a good campaign)
What would the stages be?

thinking of Parking Lot, Common Area(stalls and such), Haunted House(obligatory), Rollercoaster, Ferris Wheel.

Also, tank with clown make-up.

On topic: TTBE for singeplayer, EotA:T for multiplayer
What is TTBE? I'm always looking for a good single player Warcraft mod.

I liked Booty Bay.

Oh my God I like the real game more than modification games what is wrong with me waaaa
I know, that's how I feel sometimes. There are tons of people I know who bought Warcraft 3 for the mods, rather than the actual game. TF2 players sometimes do this as well. Why doesn't anyone like to play the actual game created by professionals? I am going to laugh when Starcraft 2 comes out, and after a couple weeks, people will be playing nothing but the mods for it.

Wow, I thought everyone had forgotten Warcraft III. Well, I'm glad they didn't.
I really liked Zombie Survival and 12 Kingdoms. DotA was good in theory, but assholes kept kicking me from there servers because apparently I wasn't "playing right". I guess leveling up, joining up with an AI squad and helping them into enemy territory, occasionally going back to the base and buying items for my character, wasn't the right way to play. Eh.
