Favorite Water Level

Out of all the games we can remember, I'm betting at least 80% of them had some kind of "water level," you know, a stage where your character is surrounded by/has to interact with water. So which water level is your favorite?

Mine would have to be Jolly Roger's Lagoon from Banjo Tooie, seeing as you never had to worry about running out of air, and you got to fuck around with Atlantis. Yay!

The close second would have to be that water temple level in The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, you know, the one where you fight that jelly-tentacle thingy.

So which is your favorite water level? What game is it from? And why is it your favorite?

Super Mario Galaxy, in the penguin galaxy where you have to swim around on shells and fire them at things (for a change) but that's mostly because I can't think of any other water levels at the moment.

I really liked the Little Mermaid level in Kingdom Hearts (NOT the second one...ugh). It was pretty cool, and the boss fights against Ursula were unbelievably tense and fun.

Super Mario Galaxy, in the penguin galaxy where you have to swim around on shells and fire them at things (for a change) but that's mostly because I can't think of any other water levels at the moment.

This. Was just silly and fun. Also, I can't also think, too tired for it.

I totally DIDN'T break my controller and utter several thousands expletives throughout the course of that Temple...

I'd have to go with Torvus Bog/ Dark Torvus Bog from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is just an amazingly complex level and has some brilliant fights in it, as well as a boss whom to this day I can't beat.

Can I say Bioshock?

Nah but really, I like the Water Temple from Twilight Princess. I got to make use of that sweet Zora armour suit, the water bombs and the Iron Boots, I got to destroy that gross frog-thingie, a giant fishy thingie and I got the best weapon evar; the Hookshot.

The music was a bit bloody dull though... three notes over and over... The main boss makes up for it though.

I also liked that level, except for the dark world. I hate it when games have poisonous water.

The flooded pirate ship in the first Metroid Prime was also enjoyable.

Water temple in ocarina of time no wait that was annoying, hmmm no wait I go for that.

It's not really a level in the traditional sense, but in Fallout 3 you have to swim to reach a clutch of Mirelock eggs protected by several Mirelock kings (or whatever they're called). The fight that ensues makes for a pretty interesting challenge, especially with Dogmeat's dumb arse right behind you...

Yeah, the poisonous water bit was a bit annoying and gave an annoying platformer aspect to it.

Oh, and I had forgotten about the flooded pirate ship level, that was one of my favourites in the original game. Thanks for reminding me of that one.
