My recent favorite is killing the War Minister in a text adventure game called Varicella. I'll try not to spoil too much, because the game is very, very, short, but the object of the game is to kill all of the other ministers in the palace so you can become the new regent. The War Minister is rushing back to the palace from his latest campaign and takes over the palace, killing you, if you don't sabotage him before he arrives. If you place a call to the right people, he comes in not at the front of a conquering army, but at the controls of a crashing helicopter. The game relies so heavily on the "try and die" mechanic that killing him is really, really satisfying.

My favorite way to die is probably being decapitated by the chainsaw guy in RE4, just for the sheer shock value.

It seems Dead Rising is popular in the thread. I might just check it out one day.

Is it any good? Would it last a long time?

I'd say using Force Choke to position someone over a pit in Jedi Outcast, then letting go and watching them fall.

Or, if the enemies jumping down at you, running underneath them and using Force Push. That flings them wildly into the air.

It is probably one of the best 360 games out right now in terms of longevity. As for how good it is, it is the most entertaining hack and slash game, but it has, in the words of Yahtzee, "a learning curve like running head-long into a brick wall."

Norm the intern at PC Magazine (now the FPS guy I think) played the guy who goes by Fatal1ty (Jonathan Wendel?) and lost ten straight deathmatches, but the last round Fatal1ty actually beat him to death with the flashlight. Nothing says owned like being beaten to death with a flashlight when you're armed with a shotgun or assault rifle.
This made me lol. It's hard to really understand how high the skill ceiling is among super-hardcore FPS players until you actually try to get to the point of being able to play with them and meet with limitless frustration.

It also has a storyline that is WOEFULLY underappreciated--it is probably one of the most poignantly social-political commentaries in the video game world, even if the message is the same as George Romero's movie.

Using mind control in WoW to force an enemy into jumping off a cliff.
UT firing a Redeemer into a huge crowd of enemies.
Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines, using Blood Boil when playing as a Tremere.
Severance - Blade of Darkness, you could chop enemies up pretty nastily in that game. Or get chopped to pieces yourself.
Dog ripping out my throat in Call of Duty 4.
Team Fortress 2, Medic Syringe Gun!
Company of Heroes, Walking Stuka rocket artillery.

Hmm, the most hilarious death I ever personally experienced in a video game was when I was attempting to comple the NYC level of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory without killing anyone. I was almost finished with the mission... I came up to a door, through which I could see the heat signature of a bad guy. I whistled to get him to come over to it, then bashed it open. Looking around for the unconscious body, I found myself baffled by its absence... until I noticed the gaping elevator shaft directly across from the door. Oops.

Though it's not directly player-controlled, the "Bloody Mess" ending to Fallout is awesome. Bastard... EAT LEAD!

My skill with hand-to-hand combat in Dead Rising has also brought about some memorable moments. Those annoying Green Beret guys are a lot less menacing when they are tumbling down the 'up' escalator into a horde of ravenous zombie, or being shoved violently into a 15 foot drop onto pavement... into a similar horde of ravenous zombies. Eviscerating 8 of them in a row as their comrades look on in stunned horror? Awesome.

Killing a certain orange soda-drinking teutonic cyborg with two or three 10mm rounds on hard difficulty? Stunningly anti-climactic, then suddenly hysterical... killphrases? Also funny as hell.

Anyone ever played Police Quest: SWAT 2? Much morbid fun was had when I played the terrorist campaign and, in one mission, escaped with the ransom money, the hostage it was supposed to be for, and in the process downed an entire SWAT team and the LAPD's helicopter (the chopper is not replacable, nor are the dead cops). Thank God real terrorists aren't so inhumanly skilled!

The guy in Morrowind who wears the Lord's Mail tragically drowned as he failed to take into account the fact that even though he could kill me in two or three hits, and my weapons were doing so little damage that a magnifying glass would be needed to confirm his health bar was moving, I was downing water-breathing and healing potions at a rate that made me glad urination is not present in that game (lest my character would have had to reenact a scene from Austin Powers, minus the amusing computer voice).

That part in Jade Empire where you can kill the trainee assassins, and they send a full-fledged assassin to spar with you? I couldn't help but laugh when I finished him with a harmonic combo, and the dialogue "But he was a full assassin!" began as an obscene amount of blood sprayed all over the place... along the same lines... the parts where you control the big hairy guy whose name I can't remember? Like PLAYING the Crazy 88 scene in Kill Bill. AWESOME. Using the musket on enemies that are supposed to be tough? Also awesome. There are more, but that's plenty for now.

Grenades. Always. Kill or be killed, grenades. Although being dropped into pits (fire, snake, acid, etc) is pretty groovy too.

Hm, the latter bit sounds too platform-y for me... I always hated platformers... but if those obstacles are easily avoidable and can be used to my advantage, that IS fun. As for grenades, anyone who's goofed off in Halo knows how fun they are... or anyone who's killed some asinine camper in Rainbow Six or CS.

Grenades should be put into all video games. (Hmm, I wonder if there's a hack for that...)

*Cranial bore - Turok*
Love watching those things mince the fuck outta stuff.

*Lunging Knife kills on Counter Strike*
Never do you feel youve got a worth while death, till youve been cained by someone who lunged off the over path near bomsite A on dust2, and to make that more enjoyable for you, theyve done it with a knife.

*Halo 2 (most importantly 2 aswell) sword 2 banshee kills*
Getting maimed while in a banshee coz u flew to low to some bastard with a sword.

*Halo 3 Co-op, with ur dumbass partner with a grav hammer*
Love turning around to something with a hammer lunging at u and ur m8 next to u shouting in ur face "IM SO SORRY, BUT U LOOK LIKE ONE OF THEM" (sounding like quite a racist quote), why did they make the co op character the arbiter, it confuses the fuck out of dumbass who dont think before they swing.

*lets go oldskool with a good old pac man ghost invasion*
Being stuck in a corner with all 4 ghost coming at you from all angles, which isnt too much of a problem if you've got a cherry.

*getting stamped on by a strider on half life 2*
Running under one of those beasts armed with only a pistol trying to stay alive eventhough you've been the dickweed who ran under it, shooting wildly in the air til u see tht red screen and hear that irretating health high pitched buzzing shit.

*Ewoks*
ok this may seem weird, but on star wars battlefront 2 i squared up to an ewok as a stormtrooper bout to blow its fuzzy fucking face off, then i get jumped by like 4 of em which pounded me to the ground with rocks. ah good times....... then i respawed and stamped on em with the AT-ST like it was a busy que at the post office.

yeah im not too good at games, you think of a way u can die, ive been through it.

Killing:
Time Splitters: Future Perfect - Injector (you get hit, and slowly inflate, then explode. Hilarious)

Gun - Hitting someone's horse in the ass with a dynamite arrow just as they are going over an epic jump

KOTOR II - Force persuading two thugs that jumping into a chasm is the best option because they'll "get to the ground faster

Dying: Having an elevator fall on you in Vampire: The Masquerade.

It was the first game I had for the 360 and I still play it occasionally. Mind you I'm a huge zombie fan. Plus the zombies are so...zombieish!
