Well thank you! I am saving this list riiiight now...
You're welcome.
If someone recommends you XKCD, Sluggy, or Questionable Content, punch them in the throat for me.

Pssh. I am totally not reading Questionable Content at this very second. *laughs nervously* Why don't you like those ones?
XKCD is less funny or clever, so much as it is built around a smug sense of superiority. If you get off on feeling superior to people without actually earning it, it's for you.
Sluggy is just long, dumb, and bland, but it's really popular in some circles for some reason.
Questionable Content has nothing really going for it. It's just mindless hipster-baiting.
It's not so much that these comics are the worst comics out there, it's that they have the worst popularity/quality ratios out there.
I will take those opinions into consideration in my future web comic endeavors. Thank you good sir.
I find XKCD funny, I don't think because it uses math and programing jokes means the guy thinks he's superior to everyone else, it's just that he's a math/programing major, it only makes sense that he'd make those jokes.
I also like Questionable Content, I have no issue with people disliking this but hipster-baiting is a really empty reason that's like saying it sucks because it caters to whats popular, no that's just smart.

Anyway here's my list for another post about the same thing.

El Goonish Shive-Very fun and carefree story but still has a lot of personality to it's characters. If you read the archive you'll see a spot where he stop for a few years, big improvement in art and story telling after that happens.

Gunnerkrigg court-It's a very good fantasy mystery.

Hanna is not a books name-Same story as above but more urban fantasy, no regular updates right now.

Slightly damned-Good story lots of jokes.

Xkcd-Math and programing jokes.

Three panel soul-Joke a week type of thing just not weekly, also read his ended comic Machall.

Dresdan Codak-Not for everyone but I like it a lot.

Gone with the blastwave-Very funny post-apocalyptic comic, this one wins the once in a blue moon update award.

My favourite is Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire

I am also in the process of making my own webcomic. unfortunately I can't draw and my artist takes two weeks to get a page done.
