I have a soft spot for the original Night of the Living Dead. So creepy. I really enjoyed 28 Days later, and Dead Set was very similar but with added gore. I mean, seriously. Yuck. Shaun of the Dead is another fave, just because it's daft.

This.
Also, did anyone catch 'Dead Set', Charlie Brookers zombie show set around the big brother house? That was great.
Yes! That was fantastic. I think Charlie Brooker has over-taken Stephen Fry in my overall Genius Ranking. His columns are hilarity embodied as well.

Dawn of the Dead (Remake)

28 Days Later (Please, don't start with the definition of zombie argument)

Shaun of the Dead

Resident Evil

When I watch a zombie film, I really don't expect, nor want incredible depth - other types of horror films can do it so much better, in my opinion.

I just want to be entertained, and the above 4 did that very well for me.

I hate zombies. It should not take one thousand screaming hungry masses to take down one guy. there's no drama except for the sheer number of opponents

bring back the warewolf. he's been gone too long

Can you count the Evil Dead movies? If you can, those are my favorite, followed by Shaun of the Dead and Diary of the Dead.

Shaun of the Dead or 28 Days Later have got to be up there, 28 weeks later has the best openning to any Zombie film ever but then gets real shit real quick.

The Dawn of the Dead remake is probably the only time that the remake stands up to the original.

Dang! Well, now I know to run from the zombieish (Made up a word) threaten to swallow my soul...and to stay far away from cabins in the middle of the woods...and to listen to anything in said cabin...you know what, now I know not to do anything Evil Dead 1 and 2's cast did. It only leads to pain and possession.

28 Days Later, unless you're some overcritical nerdy waste of space who's going to jump all over me, pushing up your glasses and screaming in a nasally voice "TECHNICALLY THAT IS NOT A ZOMBIE MOVIE," in which case I'm going to go with the remake of Dawn of the Dead. Somehow, I've never managed to see the original, though it's on my list.

yeah cause it's NOT a zombie movie, you have to be dead to be a zombie, those ppl are alive just infected with a disease, they only die after starving to death and don't come back :)

if that's true then Evil Dead could be a zombie movie in the same respect but they are demons not zombies

i'm goig have to say my favs are George Romero's The Dead series and Zombie Strippers

Personally, it's a tie between 28 Days/Weeks later, although I am appalled that nobody has mentioned Bubba Ho Tep.

Shaun of the Dead isn't just my favorite zombie move, its one of my favorite movies period. Other than that I would go with 28 Days Later.

Would 30 Days of Night count? If so, then I choose that one, hands down.

But if it doesn't count, then it's still my choice.
