Growing up I loved Streets of Rage 2; when I was a nipper my family went on holiday to Coombe Martin and we'd stay in a chalet there. The son of the people that ran the... resort, or whatever it was, had a mega drive and we used to play it together. Completed it a couple of times.

I always liked playing as Max because he was ridonculous.

Also enjoyed the Road Rash series, although I could never find a copy of Road Rash 3, which I had rented once from Blocbuster. Actually that isn't true; one day my mum and I were out shopping on my birthday and she told me I could have one game. We were in HMV in Stratford and they actually had a copy but I'd been hearing great things about Earthworm Jim. In the end, I asked her to get me Earthworm Jim 2. It was alright.

I never saw another copy of Road Rash 3 and it has haunted me for the rest of my life. Now I buy everything. Life is poverty now but the tears... they come but not often.

Ape Escape, Pokemon Red/Blue, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 & Knuckles, Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot. The list goes on quite a bit.

On May 2nd of this year, I beat Final Fantasy VI and I plan on celebrating that day every year until the day I die. I know I'm really late to the Final Fantasy VI party but that doesn't matter: I've played through and beaten one of the best RPG's of the 90's and definitely one of the best in the Final Fantasy series. This upcoming list may kind of be a cheat since I've played a some of these games recently and am always looking to expand upon my collection of older games and even consoles. Anyway, about those other 90's games that I love:

Aladdin (SNES)
Castlevania IV
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Daytona USA Arcade
Donkey Kong Country & 2
Doom
Duke Nukem 3D
Final Fantasy VI, V, VII, VIII
Final Fantasy USA: Mystic Quest
Gauntlet Legends Arcade
Goldeneye 007
Gradius III
Intelligence Quotient (it was a PSX puzzle game featuring giant blocks)
JURASSIC PARK ARCADE
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, Majora's Mask &, Ocarina of Time
Mario Golf (GBC specifically)
Mario Kart 64
Mario Party 1, 2 &, 3
Mega Man X
Metal Gear Solid
Mortal Kombat I, II & Ultimate 3
NBA JAM
Parrapa the Rapper
Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow
Pokemon Silver/Gold (never played Crystal)
Road Rash
Simpson's Arcade
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time
Twisted Metal 1 & 2
Wild Arms
X-Men Arcade

Seriously, if you've gone to arcades back when you were a kid or, back in the 90's and you've NEVER played this game:

Then demand a refund from life and kindly ask to relive the 90's.

Actually, since I have instagram, I think I will! It's a small collection, but they are all dearly beloved titles.

Streets of Rage 2 was great...but I preferred 1 I think. It's perhaps because I had Golden Axe in the same cartridge. Epic. You could complete those games in an hour or less - yet you kept playing them over and over.

You have made me quite sad I never played this. I spent a long time paying golden axe in an arcade though - Good list btw.

The console titles that stand out to me are also the RPGs: the Phantasy Stars, Soul Blazer, Act Raiser (more of an action/strategy game), Chrono Trigger.
Chrono Trigger WAS truly immense. I was partial to a bit of lufia and secret of mana, though I never completed the 2nd one. I got stuck when I had to defeat all the dragons as I recall.
