Watchmen, of course.

I also loved the Sin City comics. My favorite was 'Hell and Back'.
It was all kinds of amazing.

Some of the Star Wars comics are pretty good - the Tales of the Jedi comics are full of KOTOR-style goodness, and I really like the 4-issue Rogue Squadron story The Phantom Affair. And the adaptation of Zahn's Heir to the Empire was awesome as well.

I've never really considered buy any tv show/game/movie spin off comics. I just really don't know what to think them. I've heard good things about the Buffy comic though.

Starman is boffo! Collector guy becomes superhero, with goggles! Seriously though, Starman became one of my favorite comics ever after I read the first new hardcover edition. Solomon Grundy as a GOOD GUY! That immortal guy who met Oscar Wilde! He's awesome! Too many exclamation points!

As for manga, Buddha by Osamu Tezuka remains one of my favorite manga ever and it remains the only manga or comic book I have ever been selected to talk about on national radio. John Safran gave me a gig explaining Tezuka's Buddha to him and Father Bob on his Sunday Night Safran Show for Triple J. Good times. Anyway, even if you're not a Buddhist you should read Tezuka's Buddha because it will show you that there was a time, very, very long ago, when there existed religious people who worked against violence. Religious people still do that, but now there is agendas to it that are a bit iffy. Doesn't mean religious work for peace is bad, it's just that nobody trusts anyone anymore in that field. Buddha as a manga shows you what the Buddha did to reform India's caste system, and also his work to better the circumstances of the lower castes. And it's yet another Tezuka anti-war tract. Tezuka isn't one of those annoying cheesy political artists, he doesn't pull punches by showing you why war is bad. Essentially his point is with the Buddha series is that even if you're not Buddhist you can still appreciate the sanctity of life and a respect for nature and humanity.

the only Graphic novel I own is the Re-printed version of the V for Vendetta novel, finished a while back, but i'm always considering reading it again, Such a damn good book.

As for comics and other graphic novels, everything I read is online.
