Favourite console?

I did search but couldn't see an existing thread, which in itself was surprising.

So if there is one please correct me.

But until then, what?s everybody?s favourite console. For me it has to be my Sega Dreamcast, It is still a massive part of my life. It was way ahead of its time (phantasy star online) creating a game that expansive before broadband and it was almost as good as an arcade bringing top notch fighting games like Capcom Vs Marvel 2 and alike into the home.

Well, of this generation I would have to say the xbox 360 is my favorite. But of all time I'm going to have to go with the N64, just so many good games on it.

Isn't the PS2 still the best-selling console ever? Unfortunate, considering you only got Heihachi in Soul Calibur II while us Xbox boys got Spawn - who's exclusion from the fourth game is what's stopping me from buying it. On a serious note, the PSone gets my vote because the best game that was ever made (Abe's Exodus) was made for that system.

I disagree; although it is a very good game, I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever.

The PSone was my first console, so it's my sentimental favourite. Plus there's this one cut-scene in Exodus which made me giggle uncontrollably every time I saw it. Unfortunately, I haven't played a lot of the classic games like Donkey Kong - the only ones I think would qualify are the Sonic games and Super Mario World 2. I love those kind of old platformers but they're so damn scarce these days and I'm a little paranoid when it comes to buying stuff from the internet...

Anyway, I'm not really a console gamer, but I say Wii. I only choose the Wii because of the Virtual Console. Were it not for the VC it would be the NES. I love the NES controller. It would have been N64, but the N64 controller was the stupidest controller setup I've ever seen. People generally only have two hands, Nintendo! Your mutant playtesters are not the norm!

My gut reaction is to say N64 because GoldenEye is one of my favourite games. I also consider the DS to be up there too because I've actually gotten a lot of use out of it with some really great games, and also because it works with GBA games as well. I've had a PS3 for only a few weeks now, and it's very impressive too, if still lacking in the game library.

Nintendo 64 takes the gold because it gave me a happy childhood.
Nintendo DS takes the silver because it eases the weight of the world no matter where I am.
Sony PlayStation 3 takes the bronze because it's an impressive beast that I see a lot of strong potential in.
