Paramore, Tsunami Bomb, and Halestorm.

There's a lot that I like but those would be my favorites atm.

Flyleaf and Evanescence are dead to me.

My absolute favourite is Metric. <3

That the lead singer is absolutely gorgeous and shares my name helps :p
QFT - Love metric.

Other (but not limited to) female musicians/fronted-bands I like are:

Laura Marling - Beautiful folk music and an amazing natural sounding voice. See: captain and the hourglass - (Gives me chills listening to it.)

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Obvious, but awesome rock even though she's a bit nuts. See: Date with the night -
Pretty Girls Make Graves - Bit more rock with a punky vibe. The guitarist is quality at creating riffs too. See: All Medicated Geniuses -
If you don't mind I'll also post a link to my favourite metric song too: Succexy -
Please if there any similar I'd love for someone to let me know! I love the feeling I get when I find a new awesome band... New to me I mean, not just a new band.

EDIT: Forgot Le Tigre!

My favorites are Within Temptation and Nightwish. I'd also throw in Eluviete, though they have to female singers and a male singer, who all get in on the singing action, as opposed to the female leads taking the spotlight. There's also Concrete Blonde, Theatres Des Vampires, and Elis.

All the ones I'd have mentioned have already been said, with the glaring exception of Indica.

And to link to where I first heard of them:

Ah yes Bikini Kill, I've heard a lot about them and a few tracks at friends. Recommend a particular album?

One of most classy and fun punk rock bands. Classic 3 riffs punk rock.

Industrial/EBM with female leads are pure love

And of course the one and only

Band: Bat for Lashes. Even if it is more of a solo project. Probably my favourite musician(s) at the moment. Lovely, lovely music. Everything about Natasha Khan is gorgeous.

None band: Imogen Heap. Not listened to her as much recently as I've overplayed her music in the last few years, but I still love her stuff and is easily another of my favourite musicians.

And I've recently discovered The Pierces who sound really good too. Like old school 70s Folky Pop.
