From literature, Death from Discworld is one of my favorite characters as well as Lord Vetinari. Death because, well, he's awesome, I don't know how else to say it, and Vetinari because he's a Chess Grandmaster and ridiculously good at Xanatos Speed Chess. And I can't forget t3h m4s7rs 0 4w3s0m3, Allen Walker from the D. Grey Man manga and Alphonse Elric from the Full Metal Alchemist manga. Allen's Messiah complex just makes him a wonderfully complex character and Alphonse is anything but harmless (unlike in the anime, where they seemingly just made him the counter-point for his overly powerful brother; that whole series is just a disappointment to me).
From TV, I have to say Gregory House, PhD and Chuck Bartowski. House because he is the ultimate guy: he does what he wants, when he wants and screw everybody else (at least on the surface; he really has a bit of compassion and, while he doesn't exactly care for his patients, he at least ensures their survival), and Chuck because he is basically exactly who I am: a geek with low self-esteem and a talent for connection and strategy (I'm pretty good at Chess and Go, though I am by no means a master of either).
From video games, Baldur (from Too Human), Zack Fair, and Ryu Hayabusa. I like Baldur because I really like Nordic mythology and the game presented a nice alternate reality and placed Baldur exactly where he would have been in that alternate reality. Zack is kind of a quirk for me, I think he's one of my favorites mostly because he is the only FF7 character I've spent any kind of time figuring out; I've played Crisis Core to the end 3 times and I am working on the fourth play-through as I type. Ryu I like because, well, h3 1s t3h 1337 n1nj4 m4s7r. D0n7 qu3s70n m3.

Cloud (advent children), with his a super awesome sword used in amazing acrobatic fight scenes.

Absolute favourite is Ratchet. Cute,loveable,and will turn you into a penguin if you say something stupid.
