Favourite game made before the year 2000,

Not going real far back here, but just somewhere to post all those games that you loved back on the PS1, N64, SNES and PC.

Personally, my favorite was Medievil on PS1. With the unfortunate sequel Medievil 2 and Resurrection on the PSP.

Followed closely by LAPD: Future Cop and Half-Life 1. I think games were better when they were long and ugly, instead of being short yet pretty.

EDIT: I can't forget Might & Magic VI. This is one franchise that could really do with a revival. Might & Magic VI was really the first RPG I ever played and loved. Unfortunately, I think its memory has been faded by its relatively poor follow-ups and the fact that it had to face off against the emergence of BioWare in the form of Baldur's Gate.

Mine would have to be perfect dark on the N64. that game was pretty ahead of it's time i think. Plus the multiplayer was amazing. it was an all around great game

OT: I'll probably have to say Little Big Adventure 2. That game pretty much defined my child/teenhood.

My favorite pre-2000 game is also my favorite game of all time: DOOM. Other games I had a lot of fun with back in those days are StarCraft and the original C&C, as well as a bunch of console games.

Some of my old favorites are Ascendancy, Command & Conquer, and Age of Empires. I don't remember what years those came out, but I do remember spending countless hours playing them as a kid.

Lemmings for the win! I have the PS1 collection of Lemmings and Oh No! More Lemmings! as well as the PSN remake for PS3. I have a Lemmings theme on my PS3 and a Lemmings avatar for PSN. Obsessed much?

I guess Croc: Legend of the Gobbos for PS1 is my other pre-year 2000 game made, since Lemmings is already taken. Why this game never got the respect it deserved I don't know. It's certainly a more controversial choice than Final Fantasy VII or Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
