I used to play that with friends at LAN parties, but we then discovered a little gem known as Company of Heroes, and have since then, sadly, never played middle-earth again.Jaeke said:

Rummel & Rabalder: Jakten på Kapten Hanssons Guld.
Basically, sometime during the 90's, there was this program on the telly about two rats (played by muppets) running a PI-bureau. It was a really nice show, I remember, and they made a fun PC game for it as well.
R&R gets aboard their flying carpet and you go flying through some very nice scenery for the time, pressing the right arrow key at the right time to avoid obstacles or collect carpet dusters and cheese doodles (powerups and score). I loved it, and if I still had it, I'd imagine that it'd still hold up fairly well in its simplicity. And I wouldn't be surprised if it's still somewhere in my muscle memory.
Although I mostly remember crashing into things. Alot.

A lot of people know about this one now, mostly because of the internet and the virtual console. It's achieved cult-classic status now.Rednog said:
OT: Dragon's Lair is the first one that I can think of. I know it's a cult-classic as well and almost lots of kids for its bone crushing difficulty, but I still love it. That or the original NES Ninja Gaiden, again for its bone crushing diffculty.
The mechanics are solid, the sound work is noticeably better than most FPSs, and the story is competently put together.
Now, in my opinion, Republic Commando is the second best Star Wars game out there, and I highly recommend it both to Star Wars and FPS fans.

I miss BFME 2 multiplayer horribly :\ damn EA turned off the servers to save money. It's been about a year and a half (January 2011). Not enough gamers with interests like me in my town to play LAN parties like that. Shame.
The Disciples series for sure. I like them better than HOMM and Age of Wonders but most tbs players disagree.
I'm going to jump on the Breakdown bandwagon here. Also I remember playing a few Gamecube 007 games that were actually quite fun.

I'll go with James Body 007 for the Game Boy, it was essentially Zelda mixed with James bond.
Fucking awesome game. I never finished it though I got damn far. It even had an original plot (even if it did reuse some characters) and I loves the level. Marrakesh was a hell of a level, you had to explore dat shit, win at the casino, go to the catacombs and fight men with turbans and swords, awesome.
Also, blowing up the wall in Q's lab and finding the M.A.R.B.L.E. Bloody useless thing and I hear it was only used in the ending but I still loved collecting it.
Legend of Dragoon. It was like final fantasy 7 but actually interesting with a pretty cool battle mechanic for it's time and a memerable story.
I'm not sure, would Vampires The Masquerade or it's sequel count? They were both awesome games that nobody knew about... Though Bloodlines had a glitch that made it impossible to beat straight out of the box, but user mods allowed for it to be finished.
