Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

It has a wide range of actors from Samuel L. Jackson and James Woods, to comedian Charlie Murphy, Rapper's Ice-T and MC Eiht, as well as radio show hosts like Axl Rose.

The dialogue is often laugh out loud and I love hearing early 90's slang.

Pretty much every line in Destroy All Humans! made me laugh my ass off. Whoever voiced Crypto and Pox were hilarious!

Soul reaver, raziel and the old god's voice are just awesome it has to be one of the best voice acting i ever heard.
It was very good. In fairness the voice acting was fantastic, but I always thought in terms of the writing Raziel and Kain were awesome, but everyone else just sounded a bit ridiculous.

Raziel spouts every word like he is a shakesperian actor and kain is just badass i really can't think of any other game with such good voice acting.

Kain is the most badass badass that ever badassed his way down badass boulevard.

And I just had my childhood made more awesome by discovering that the guy who voiced Raziel also voiced some of the parents in Rugrats. The wierd thing is when I think about it I can really tell.

Resident Evil.

No, really. The voice acting is so spectacularly bad that it makes it one of the most quotable games ever made, right up there with Portal. It's the stuff that cult classics are made of and much more fun than any intentionally ironic dialogue could ever be.

Other than that... Portal, of course (and Portal 2, judging by the first hour) and Fear Effect 1 and 2, which had terrific voice acting in an era when the standard was... well, Resident Evil...

Someone posted the opening movie for Resident Evil on a previous page. I nearly died laughing at it, it was absolutely fantastic!

Portal 2 it was just outstandingly classic every character was well played and the script was thought out amazingly. I have never seen better voice acting.

Anders in Dragon Age. I only wished he'd spoken the words "royal bastard" instead of it being a text response from the player. The line was awesome.

Dad in Fallout 3 - Liam Neeson was awesome, until you realised your Dad has a sexy voice.
Ron Perlman - also in the Fallouts. He should have had a fully voiced character instead of just narrating though.

Not really the voice acting, but the turrets in Portal always make me chuckle with what they say and also the synthesising used.

Without reading this whole thread I wonder how many people will mention the game Enslaved. I personally felt like that game had some of the most lifelike and well voiced characters I'd ever seen. It's a game that will really stick with me. Wouldn't be surprised at all if a generation of consoles later it's one of those cult, hard to find but have to play games.

I think someone did actually mention this (hard to keep track though since I seem to have hit topic gold!) a couple of pages ago. It seems to get a lot of recommendations around here, I might have to try and track it down.

The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. You provide me an example of voice acting with real emotion and I'll will eat the bag my subway came in.

I'm going to say Borderlands is one of my favorite games to listen to, as well as agreeing with previous posters on Valve games, Mass Effect 1 & 2 as well as Dragon Age and the Legacy of Kain games.

The first to say this, Twisted Metal Black. All the characters are impressively characterized for their 5-8 minutes of actual dialog that each character had.

The Nazi Zombie group. Nolan North as Richtofen, Steve Blum as Tank Dempsey, they both make the mode more fun.

I'll post a vid later

Portal 2 has some of the best acting I've ever seen. And I'm including movies and TV.
And Mark Hamill as the joker in arkham asylum is sublime.
