Voice acting in video games ranges from absolutely fantastic to complete tripe, with every shade inbetween. Some are good because they have fantastic scripting, some have great actors, and some we love because they're just so awful it becomes funny.

For me, it has to be Fable 3, I've been reading the cast list on IMDB and it's pure britgasm gold! Simon Pegg, Stephen Fry, Sean Pertwee, John Cleese, Sir Ben Kingsley. Wicked! Made all the better by the fact that they play the parts really well. I don't think I've ever loved Stephen Fry more than as Reaver, and I love A Bit of Fry and Laurie so that's a tall order.

Either that or Mass Effect one and two. Yeah the dialogue system made conversations seem a little awkward at times but on the whole they were well written and well read. Plus whenever Yvonne Strahovski (didn't even need to look up the right spelling) says anything I get a funny feeling in my man parts. I get a similar feeling whenever Martin Sheen talks too.

For so bad it's funny, probably Darksiders. Between Mark Hamill being intentionally funny and everyone else being possibly unintentionally hilarious I couldn't wait to see the next cutscene! Or MGS, just for Psycho Mantis.

So yeah, what are your favourites? Incidentally I thought about creating a poll but since they don't give enough options for EVERY GAME WITH VOICES EVER then I thought I'd leave it to the will of the reply gods.

Kidding. I feel like the Mass Effect series has the best voice acting. Lot of actors I can actually recognize, and all the lines are well spoken and nice to listen to. Oh yeah, and the Portal 2 games. Granted, there's maybe like 5 between the two of them, but it's pretty damn well executed with perfect comedic timing.

Portal 2, undoubtably.
FFX also gets honourable mention for that one scholar guy you came across throughout Spira. His voice could melt chocolate.

"... and that, as they say, is that."

-Fable 1 (Jack of Blades but only after they gave him balls in TLC)

-Fable 2 Reaver is a badass

-Fable 3 See 2

-Red Dead Redemption kinda felt like all of those people were really acting it in

-GTAIV because Niko feels and sounds like someone real

Hahaha, oh anything by Bethesda tickles me. Actually I think it has to go down under the category of so bad it's funny.

ME is definitely nice to listen to. Especially Yvonne Strhovski. And Martin Sheen.

Agreed, both on Portal 2 and Maechen. Every time meeting him was a highlight.

I guess I'll be the first to say it... Half-Life 2
I still think I'd enjoy it more if Freeman had a voice. And it was Charlie Sheen.

Fable 3. When John Cleese doesn't comment on something, I get sad. :[

Even the random NPC work is solid.

I think I'll just post this:

Golden.

For best? Since ME has been mentioned I'll go with KotOR and Jade Empire too, great voice direction.

Whacks head crab with crowbar 'Winning!'

Mass Effect has some great voice acting. Mordin singing is priceless. Seth Green as Joker <3 Helps that most of his lines are pure gold.

Fallout Vegas was well done too. Felicia Day is a great voice actress, I hope she gets a spot in Skyrim.

I'd say Tales of Symphonia and Abyss (although the dialogue can be cheesy at times). Also the first Starcraft, just the overmind's voice from the intro sequence is enough evidence <3
Oh and of course I can't forget the Baldur's Gate games.

I really want that mod to happen now. Or when you're on a turret he shouts "I drink tiger blooooooooood!!!!!"

"I am the very model of a scientist salarian..."

New Vegas was a step up for them, but still the good voices were let down by some monumentally stupid ones. Still, monologues are great, between "War, war never changes" and "You've heard about the sierra madre casino, we all have" I think it has some of my favourites ever. And Felicia Day is great in everything. I take it you've seen the Guild.

Yeah it's great. I was a GM for a while so I know what that's like :p
I was just watching Resident evil 1 clips now. Why can't I remeber the voice acting being so utterly terrible. I must have blocked it out xD My face hurts from laughing.
