The grenade launcher in Quake Live is an awesome weapon. Most people don't tend to use it but it's awesome to bounce it off the wall or off the roof to catch a chasing opponent. Its usefulness is endless.

I'd have to go with the Pipe Bomb from Left 4 Dead. It's quick, efficient, and can take out large numbers of Infected at once. It also buys you some time if you're surrounded by a horde and becomes more effective depending on how many Infected there are.

Don't use them much. But have fond memories of nailing someone with a Plasma on Halo multiplayer. Tossed from one side of the map to the other. Intended, but lucky. Missed their head by an inch, stuck to the rocket launcher on their back.
