I saw a bunch of people dressed up as the Furies from The Warriors. Last we made a "Nemesis" costume for my friend out of cardboard. We even a picture of his face to a square box for his head, and a cardboard rocket launcher. It was pretty awesome.
I went as a vampire wearing a sheet.
Back in high school I had a friend who dressed up as anthrax. She wore a black leotard and covered herself in baby powder. It was in bad taste and she got arrested for it but I found it funny/creative as hell.
I've dressed up in an authentic USSR navy greatcoat, steel-toed boots, and an ushanka, I was super communist man! And damned proud of it!
And this year I'm going as the medic from Team Fortress 2, I even have a pickelhaube for it, next year I think I'll go as either a fancy Victorian gentleman, or George Washington, or some other of the Founding Fathers.

I was dressed as a girl one year. And I'm a boy. When I went to school in my new outfit, one of my friends thought I was new girl and hit on me. To this day I don't know if he was faking or not.
