Favourite in-game music

I remember one game I had for PC which was Praetorians, a RTS games set in Roman times. The music was nice but whenever a fight started it would quickly change and pump out some Rob Dougan (Usually if not something just as awesome) and his songs made the fights so epic. Not the game's music but it worked so well for that game.
EDIT: as for original game music I would have to say HL2 had a lot of good ones. I have them on CD and listen to them today, they have good action, peaceful, scary, creepy, tense and many other types of songs and they all seem to fit perfectly.

I've always liked the music from real-time/turn-based strategy games. Right now I remember Civ3, Age of Empires II and Red Alert C&C as having pretty cool soundtracks. For that matter, World of Warcraft and Anarchy Online also spring to mind for having soundtrack music that really help add distinction between different areas of the game.
If you mean "theme music" like the title song of a game then the Mary Elizabeth McGlynn songs from the Silent Hill series have been favourites of mine for a while (and despite having never played SH Homecoming, I think my favourite is "One More Soul to the Call" from it)

RTS: Starcraft, mostly the Terran stuff... because it has guitar in it...
RPG: I'm going to say a cross between Parasite Eve, and the World of Warcraft tunes.
Raceing: Gran Turismo by far.
Shooters: Warhawk... hate the game... love the music.

Some dayum funky beats right there, brother.
It's a shame that the rest of the bosses' music lacked compared to this. In all fairness, the bar was set pretty high.

The song is just so catchy, pushes out such strong emotion in it, that you literally want to go out and punch Dracula in the face. The Judgment version is my favourite.
A truely epic song, FROM A KIRBY GAME! It sets everything up for the last battle as you get ready to the fight the epiphany of evil.
I know most people have a love/hate relationship with this song, but I just love it. I never get tired of hearing it, its just so action packed and heart pumping. Too bad I'll lose it if SSF4 comes out for PC....ehh screw it, if they do release it for PC, I'm modding this song back into it.

The Morrowind theme is incredible, the music in game is pretty awesome as well. Oblivion's was good, but not as good.
Since we're sticking with in game music I'm actually going to completely date myself here and say the entire sound track to Megaman 2 there's no bad music in that game.
If forced to pick a single track it would probably be Dr Wily's skull Castle stages 1 and 2 it just has this very determined "I'm coming to get you you evil bastard" feel to it.
Honorable mentions go to "The Fight" from Prince of Persia Sands of Time and The Silent Hill Theme. both of which manage to perfectly capture the feel of their respective games.

HL2, Vortal Combat. It plays when you fight off a horde of Antlions with some Vortigaunts, and IT IS AWESOME.
