Favourite: Adventure

I've always been a huge fan of adventure games. I love the whole exploration aspect and the who story driven gameplay (usually).

Least Favourite: Fighting

Ugh, fighting games take too much skill to enjoy in my opinion. For those who have that skill I could see them enjoying these types of games but for those who don't (me) they suck.

Okay, so what about you all?

Uh... I don't like sports games.

Never been good at sports, real/digital/other... Because of that the thought of playing sports in a game just never took off with me, and every time I (reluctantly) play with a friend it just bores me. That and I fail to see the need to update every year outside of new team rosters and stats. But then again, that's just me.

... I don't have a flame shield...

Sports to me as well as said by Caboose. Same insights, same things. I play games because I want to get away from reality and its boring features of limitations.

FPS and Adventure are my favourites.

I don't really not like a genre, but my least favourite would probably be sports as well. If I can do it myself, I don't need a game about it.

Western RPG's, something I can get really lost in, both story and gameplay wise. The deeper, the better. Baldur's Gate II was one of my favourite games of all time, I loved Oblivion, and I'm painfully excited for Dragon Age. My attitude with everything in life is that I just want to keep seeing new and new things, so RPG's are great for that.

Least favourite? Probably puzzle games. I can understand the lure, but see above. I can't abide something that's based on repeating the same thing over and over again in variations of difficulty or speed.

My favorite genre inherently is a mix, such as the Ratchet & Clank series (shooter/platformer), as I find that more versatility on the player's end is always better, as long as it doesn't increase complexity.
Practically, however, I find the most enjoyable games in the greatest quantity to be 3D shooters. This is because the core run-and-gun or even just aim-and-shoot gameplay is already a good base to start with, unlike, for example, racing games. You can make the basic mechanics of moving, aiming, and shooting, set up some featureless hills, sprinkle some SMG's, and wind up with a decent game.

My least favorite genre, inherently, is turn-based strategy. By its very definition, a turn-based game will involve a lot of waiting, and I don't think any developer has thought of a way around this.
My least favorite genre, based on experience, is fighting. With the exceptions of the Dragonball Z, Def Jam, and Super Smash Bros. franchises, every fighting game I've played involves memorizing illogical button sequences more than general skill or strategy.

I like RPGs and survival horror.

I absolutely HATE sports games because, just like Mirroga, I play games to escape reality and since I hate real sports I also hate virtual/digital sports.

Just blew my mind. You win a wookiee.
Fix'd.

And so I don't get a spam warning...I like RPGs for the most part, although FPS have grown on me. I hate sports games, except for Skateboard/snowboard games. I absolutely loved Tony Hawk and the SSX series.

I don't really have a favorite genre, per se--if a game grabs me, I'll give it a try, and if I like it, I won't trade it back in.

I do have a least favorite, though: sports/racing. If I want to throw a ball around or drive a car, I'll just do it. No need to pay extra.
