Claustrophobic levels! In real life I have a natural fear of tight spaces so it's cool to see characters in video games speed through them with ease.
I loved finding cosy little hideaways in games.

I remember finding this place in Fallout 3, can't remember where, but I think it was near some huge satellite dishes. It was down a manhole and there was a skeleton sitting at the very end of this tiny room, in front of a radio.

Love little things like that.

I suppose it's weirdness I crave the most. Can't give you a more definite answer than that, I'm afraid.
This, i'm fine as long as it's interesting and has fast pacing through the stage, the pure opposite of that is a JRPG style labyrinth with teleports, they make me cry

When they do something different to the norm. Something like the Scarecrow sections in Batman: AA for example. They go for something more interesting and mindfucky.

I do so love the mindfuckery sections in basically anything...

This is why I hate The Fade section in DA:O so much. It was obviously supposed to a cool mindfucky section about your party and to a lesser extent yourself but it just dissolved into really annoying, shitty maze with zero mindfuckery involved.

Anything weird is my thing to be fair. Probably why I love Persona 4's dungeons so much. Crazy scenery and awesome mindfuckery! Wooooooooooo!

It depends a lot on the game but I have a thing for desperate last stands.

Like in Rome Total War when you get besieged in a city with only a wooden fence and a unit of town militia to try and hold back the entire advancing Carthagian army, or you're in Fallout 3 and you've been set upon by an entire library full of raiders despite being level two and only armed with a BB Gun.

Another type of level I like it ones where you actually have to move and think different to normal (usually in a FPS). So for example in a game where normally you'd run and gun with impunity, being forced to make use of cover and flanking (Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway was incredible for this) or in a game where you can usually run headlong into hordes of enemies but then are forced to hang back and use stealth (X2: Wolverine's Revenge is one of the few games I can think of off hand that did this well)

And of course, any level in a sprawling RPG (Skyrim/Fallout3 style) where you can just walk across the entire map killing and scavenging as you go. I will often not use fast travel systems in those games, just because I like walking places, even places I've already been.

Thinking about it, I would say what I would call "void" levels. Anything in some sort of weird area where it's just a big empty space and a path, or something to that effect. And dammit, I had examples, but they've gone from my mind...

Well I do love ice and snow levels, they always manage such pristine beauty. However I think I'll have to go with jungle levels because I like the untamed wilderness. Ice levels often offer great entertainment in slippery ground that can either help you or kill you. Either way it's great fun.

I absolutely hated the Shivering isles expansion pack for this reason. We get to go to the realm of the God of Madness and all you have to show for it is an alice in wonder land look alike with a few funny quotes about digging pits of clowns to stop your enemy.

It was all right, but it just squandered such an opportunity.

You know, I used to prefer a bubble-tube type level, but I've recently come to love laser levels... Sorry, first thing I thought when I read the titles.

My favorite level type is an urban combat scenario, in which you have multiple locations on different y-axis locations to look out for... It's tense as hell, and tight corners make slow movement essential. If you can't tell, I like shooters... ArmA 2 is pretty awesome.

Not entirely sure to be honest. My favorite level in any game I can think of is Fort Frolic from Bioshock because of the varied areas and Sander Fucking Cohen. I guess my favorite levels are ones where you meet and/ or interact with awesome characters.

Examples:

Vendetta (meeting Reznov) -Cod: WaW
Vorkuta (meeting Reznov, again) - Cod: Blops
16x: Port of Badon (meeting Canas & Fargus) - Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword

Also, Call of Duty Stealth levels.

I love night time levels that still manage to have bright colour schemes, the neon look if you wanna go there e.g.

Black Velvetopia

Anywhere Bioshock

And the Forest Navel from Pikmin

Besides that, anything to do with wildlife, I am a sucker for nature... good gracious I love Pikmin...

Desert levels, it's fucking awesome to quest/fight/strategies in a massive, open desert.

A pity not many games do it.

EDIT: Also - caves, can't resist them, I MUST enter.

Personally, I have two from Mass Effect:

Mass Effect 2: Lair of the Shadow Broker, particularly on the Shadow Brokers Ship. Traversing the outside was fun, a little hectic, and the banter was fantastic. Not only that, but the boss fight at the end with the Yahg, felt extremely epic to me, making Shepard out to be a total badass. Lone human essentially getting in a fistfight with an alien that's twice their size, and likely stronger?

Sign me up.

The other is from Mass Effect 3, particularly the ending mission. Now hold up! Don't spew vitriol at me yet, because I don't mean the ending run. No, I mean the holdout just before, where you have to defend yourself against constantly advancing Reaper Forces while waiting to be able to kill a Reaper.

I don't know why, I just found it unbelievably fun. There was ALWAYS a target for me to cut down, I was usually running out of thermal clips, meaning by the end I'd have switched to my Phalanx, or whatever Pistol I would have been in the mood for, and really, it just felt like an awesome last stand. Even though it wasn't, sort of.

I really enjoy levels that go full on industrial, scrabbling over giant turning gears, dodging steam, swinging on chains, that kind of thing. I almost crapped myself when I found out about the Dwemer Ruins in Skyrim.

It's not very specific, but really big places. Like that one mountain in Skyrim, or massive deserts, or something like the bottom of Lake Hylia from Twilight Princess, or even that huge cave area in Gears 2. They're just awesome.

Depends on the genre for me.

In an RTS,I enjoy missions where you have to hold the line. I consider myself a defensive expert in an RTS. My defensive lines include a little bit of everything, from little guns to artillery to missile launchers. "Behold;the bringer of light." was my favourite line from C&C Generals. Rocket buggies? WHAT rocket buggies? All I see is a MUSHROOM CLOUD!

In shooters, any level that gives you options. Want to take enemies from a distance? You can do that. Want to blitz their asses with short and medium range weapons? Consider it done. Want to have fun with things that go boom? Your wish is granted. Half-Life 2 was good for this, especially on the Highway levels, and Nova Prospekt.

In an RPG,of any description,it's the Bonus Boss, but only if there's more than one legitimate strategy to fight them. <Glares pointedly at Final Fantasy VIII's Omega Weapon> Fights with them generally get...Silly,with me. Ever fight the Vanitas Sentiment without Mine spells,Second Chance, and Once More? I have. It's FUN.

I also tend to enjoy stealth levels. There's something rewarding about sneaking around and completing the objective, without anyone being the wiser.

I love it when I find a level that's set in a tomb or dungeon somewhere with lots of booby-traps and stuff.

Shadow Temple in OoT for example (so creepy yet so awesome, relying on the Lens of Truth and Hover Boots were epic! Sometimes I try to do the temple w/o using the LoT)

and the Arbiters Grounds in Twilight Princess... Something that has some puzzles to getting through it.

I also like any level that has an epic vista (Mass Effect is a great example of this)
