Top 5? Anthrax, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Iron Maiden, Protest The Hero

...and three of them are at Sonisphere this year!!!
Just because this fine lad already stated my favorites, I shall add on Tool, Megadeth, Pantera, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Between the Buried and Me.

I wouldn't say I have a favourite metal band and I'm not going to list all the ones I like,
but if pressed I would have to go with this band as one of my all time favourites.

That's odd, because apart from Pantera I'm not a big fan of any of those really :/.

Kamelot
Hammerfall
Rhapsody of Fire

Heh. Soilwork is a hilarious name for a band.

Um..I like instrumental bands like Animals as Leaders, And So I Watch You From Afar, Russian Circles and so forth.
Can't really stand growling/screaming/croaking, but I occasionally listen to Opeth and Meshuggah. And other assorted oddities like Diablo Swing Orchestra and UnExpect. Cradle of Filth if I'm in a camp mood.

I haven't really kept track of new metal releases for a good 5 years, mainly because I just got fucking bored of the genre and mostly the people in it. Every now and then I still put on a good metal CD, to let off some steam or just for old time's sake.

This will most likely be an album by, alphabetically, Aborted, Behemoth, Bloodbath, Cannibal Corpse, Death, Edge of Sanity, Godsmack, Gorefest, Immortal, Kataklysm, Kreator, Lamb of God, Opeth, Rammstein, The Haunted or Zarathustra. I wouldn't know about any recent releases they might have made though, like I said, I'm not that into metal anymore.

Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Slipknot, Children of Bodom, Metallica, Alestorm, Sabaton, Nightwish, Motley Crue, Nirvana (well, it's alternative metal), Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Rainbow, Clutch, Hevisaurus, Motorhead, Rammstein and Apocalyptica.

Yeah, I like metal.

Dragonforce, I absolutely love Dragonforce. Though I honestly don't like any other metal I've heard, although I haven't heard much else. It's the deep voiced screaming that I find unpleasant.
